This changes everything. My information was through a couple of posts, and Cullen's Dragon Age Wikia page. If Cullen is not the only non-companion capable of being a romance option, then hopefully Varric is an LI. Again, I have no desire to romance Varric, although it's not off the tables.

 

If people want to romance Cullen, but he isn't a companion, then as long as he's not the only one, I have no beef with BioWare in regards to him. I was one of those people who liked the idea of having non-NPCs being possible companions, so hopefully we won't be locked into too few characters.

 

Making Cullen a romance option is fanservice nevertheless, but there's nothing wrong with it.

 

If Cullen is not the only non-NPC capable of being courted, then if people are willing, could they tell me in this thread? I don't need to know who, just that the concept is true.

Yes, based on all the information we know, it's safe to assume that Cullen is not a companion, but an important NPC instead.

 

We don't know if there are any other NPC romances. The only romances confirmed in general are Cullen and Cassandra.

We don't know for sure that Cullen isn't a companion, but it seems very likely. Working from the basis that he is an NPC then yes, he is indeed the only one who is romanceable thus far.

Some have theorized that "Scribe Girl" is the female NPC romance, but nothing confirmed at all.  All we have is strong evidence for now.  I think Word of God is going to happen soon enough.

Oh, good. Hopefully he won't be. Not because I hate Cullen - because I don't, I never once said I hated Cullen, but people came to the assumption in my last thread - but because I want the ability to romance people not NPCs.

Well, maybe he just happens to be the first/only one confirmed prior to the game's release? We don't know that there won't be others, right?
