I might as well post before this thread goes any further.  I'm also frustrated at the apparent 6:3 gender split among the companions.  I really thought they had come farther than this after DA2.  Apparently, they decided that all the companion and romance systems from DA2 needed to get removed.  In favor for more men and NPC romances.   Way to toss the baby out with the bathwater.  <sigh> 

 

Anyhow, good luck OP.  Ignore and report the trolls, don't feed them.  

 

Yeah this is almost... Like I almost am incapable of believing that the 6:3 ratio is final? Maybe there are magically 2 or 3 more female companions hiding around that we don't know about? I'm grasping at straws, I know.

 

I'd like to see an explanation for this huge imbalance, personally.

I haven't entirely eliminated the possibility of another lady lurking around, but I highly doubt it after that trailer.  The reason for return to such an imbalance?

We're three games into the series and we haven't had a dwaf romance, despite lady Hawkes being able to flirt with Varric, and you thought we'd have quanari romances in the first game in which they're playable? Wait your turn ox-people!

Realism with females being more than males is a really poor explanation, and I would also like to know why they choose to have this. I guess it is only realism when they say so or something.

I wonder if Morrigan would join the Inquisition as an advisor? Isn't that what she has been doing for years in Orlais? IDK she may be part of a bigger plot, but if she is in the Inquisition as an adviser like Leliana. Maybe both of them could be romance able if they weren't romanced in DA:O?

 

As for the OP's concerns. I'm sad there isn't a female Qunari companion romance able or not, they look pretty cool. Plus Iron Bull would probably want another Qunari to talk to.

Not to mention that there have been other BioWare games with dwarves in it and no romances coming from them either.

if there are 9 followers there should be

4 females

1 female elf

 

1 male elf

 

1 male human

1 male qunari

 

1 female qunari

 

1 dwarf

 

than mayby 2 special case companions like shale or a dog

At this point not gonna to happen, I said this some weeks ago that it seems they had more males than females on the concept art. And it turn out to be true. It is a really bad surprise since they talk a lot about representation and more female presence on games.

 

And let us not talk about that they have the same builds and body and are all humans and elves. I think this is a huge step back along side the romantic options. I was even expecting Mae to be a companion some time ago, how naive I was really.

actually im the only one who said that. and thats not the only reason. the main reason for any1 should be because this is the first game were they are going to be seen. it only makes sense to have one as a companion. why introduce a new species gender into the series and not  add that gender as a companion. I want her to have an interesting personality.

Ya I find this baffling. Unless they think they are doing women a favor by dumping all these men on us.

 

Again we see a game where all the females are one body type, but the males have such a huge variety. Burly, skinny, short, tall with buldging muscles... But the women are all the same.
