I don't mind Puggernauts

They might not kill 1/4th of what I do.. and that's OK with me. Their aggro draw helps me operate unchecked by the enemy for the most part, and I like that.
Another reason I don't mind is because, I feel a lot of them really want to help the team, and with a limited manifest, and single digit medigels.. it's the only way they know how. I'd rather they do the Juggy melee crap, then be a shield boost spamming Volus anyday.
Puggernauts are some of my favorite pugs. I don't mind killing everything.. I'm probably going to be doing that regardless. At least I don't have to revive them very often.

Agreed, as long as they actually stay alive.

Other than Crabs up close (stagger), or Ravagers/Scions slamming them from range.. they can infinitely tank anything else.. I think.

I saw one get taken down by three abominations with nothing else in sight. I was too shocked to react.

I've been a "puggernaut" in several games recently, although I prefer to think of it as ranged fire support / mobile artillery.

I agree, the only bad thing is that there are too many of them. The only ones that really bug me are the hex shield spammers. Most are a help.

Bad players give this kit a bad rep.Even though it's one of the most powerful characters in the game.
A bit of hyperbole perhaps?

If I play with bad players, it's not like they are going to do much better with a GI or a Drell, since they'll be hitting the dirt for most of the game anyway.
Stand there and melee everything without ever firing your weapon or siege pulse. Continue to put fully specced Hex shields in front of choke points to protect your allies from... killing things. And most importantly, never use your missiles, even when surrounded by most of the spawn hammering down on you. Because you know in your pug heart that someone else will nuke it for you or risk their life to run through the crowd to revive you because you don't need to use gels.

Put a Javelin on it and then reconsider.
My last 8 or so games with it, I topped the scoreboard every game except for one - that one I left in wave 2 because of excessive lag.

LOL wut? It was probably a total scrub.
The only problem with pugernauts is on platinum. When they die , I can not revive them cos' usually they are surrounded by Banshees, Primes, Crabs that they were tryin' to melee.

I think I'm speaking for a lot of people when I say: I don't dislike the kit, I dislike the people playing it. The Juggy, just like the Volus back in the day, is used as an excuse to unjustifiably bump up the difficulty.
Simply put: a player who is barely qualified for bronze can survive with a Juggy on gold but he'll still be a bronze player. That is, lol revives, lol objectives, lol missiles, lol medi gel, lol spawns control, lol game mechanics, lol trying to stay alive. That is not to say that all Juggies are like that, but I'd say the ratio of good Juggies to bad Juggies is 1:4.

Weeeell ... it kinda means you're actually killing more stuff than anyone else on your team; granted with a really, really bad team or a lucky enemy/map for the kit you're using...
I outscored everyone in a game last night using the Vorcha Hunter.
Does this mean I'm awesome? Nope.
Does it mean the Vorcha Hunter is awesome? Nope (though he's better than he gets credit for IMO).
Does it mean that the team wasn't brilliant AND we landed on White/Cerberus when I was using a Vorcha Hunter WITH a Falcon and Disruptor rounds, which completely trivialises the entire Cerberus Faction bar Atlases? Yup!
See, it does mean something ![]()
... just nothing very specific or common to any 2 games.

Not sure what the point of this post is. Are you even following the conversation? Top scoring with the Juggernaut in a team filled with n00bs/mediocre players doesn't make the Juggernaut "one of the most powerful" kits.

And I am one of the four. Then again, I haven't played Jug for a long time.

Ummm ... was responding to your "score means jack ... " - score does mean something, it means you're killing more things than other people but that's it. So yeah, a Juggernaut can top the scoreboard, in the same way a Vorcha Hunter, Volus Vanguard or anything else can top the scoreboard given the right circumstances (better player, got lucky on the map/enemy, whatever).
Doesn't mean the Juggy is a powerful points-monster - agree with you on that point.

Agreed!
But... honestly. IMO I like pretty much like any kit that pug players use. I personally find pug gameplay engaging, even the games which end in failure. I like the process of trying to solve the 'puzzle-for-victory' that random players bring to games.

If you agreed, then why bother writing the essay? My comment was obviously a response to his. You can't just ignore the context.
