I hope you get to pick a Geordie accent for the dwarf, at least. No one will understand a damn word they say. :D :P

Agreed :). Until Eve Myles voiced Merrill I never considered the Welsh accent to be sexy, now I want more Merrill or any character voiced by her just so I can hear her sexy voice more. At least I have Torchwood in case that never happens though.

To bring people up to speed, there appears to be 4 voice options total:

-Male American

-Male British

-Female American

-Female British

Sorry to those looking for a specific racial voice or various accents.

And then there will be voices for localized languages, though we don't know the particulars of that.

I'll be going Male American, actually. Human Mage.

But I'm very open to all of the rest :). From the bit of Male British that we've heard so far, I'm quite cool with making an altQuisitor Warrior/Rogue with that voice.

Whatever the case, look forward to the Inquisitor (regardless of Gender/Race) to be rather 'powerful' sounding, overall, based on all the descriptions of the character so far. I don't expect any more dainty or soft voices, except in certain scenes/scenarios/conversation options. Key words: leadership, control, authority, dry, potentially sarcastic, benevolent or dominating.

Sidenote: this actually makes character variety quite nice. I could go, for example..

-Male Human Mage, American

-Male Elven Rogue, British

-Female Qunari Warrior, British

-Female Dwarven Rogue, American

..and feel that they're all different. You can make your own combinations. And then the truly obsessed can try to tolerate hearing a voice mode more than once.

Sidenote2: If they CAN add a pitch slider, that's even better. It'd let us finish up the class+race combos without feeling like the voices are a copy of a previous character.

Picking the American accent should give players a Freedom! bonus to damage.

I just remember in DA:O how you got to pick the voice of you Warden (non-speaking dialogue, but ambient banter stuff).  I assumed that we'd toggle the same way...only FULLY voiced.

Side note: I picked the cocky sounding one not appreciating how annoying it would get.

Whichever sound more confident, a leader.

I'm open to both British or American, wasn't a fan of male Hawkes voice actor in DA2.

That just confirms 2 voices for the inquisitor.  It doesn't confirm the ability to chose your accent

Each race has 4 voice actors, meaning each gender has 2.

After you choose male or female, you will pick whichever voice you want. If there's 2 voices each, wouldn't you have to pick one?

The color of my Inquisitor's blood is red, white and blue. He bleeds stars and stripes.

American.

The UK flag is red, white and blue too...

And I'm with most others, I'll have to hear the voices first.

Bolded part is not confirmed. People very possibly misread.

16 voice actors sounds terrifying for them to handle.

EDIT: Unless I'm misreading you, in which case sorry!

Union Jack lacks stars n' stripes.  Inquisitor only bleeds RWB.

True, I just never understood why Americans say "red, white and blue" as though it's unique to them when a number of other flags use those colours too.

Hoping the American one sounds good and deep because I plan to use it on my qunari. A British qunari might sound weird.

Sorry, I meant there are 4 VA's total, those 4 for each.

It depends on what they sound like. I like Jo Wyatt as female Hawke (through I liked her performance as the female agent in TOR much better).

I do wish DA could deviate from the standard British trope a bit more, and was hoping there would be a French accent available given the setting of the game. I'm happy for the option though, and I'll have to see what they all sound like.

Picking the American accent should give players a Freedom! bonus to damage.

But only if they're playing as a mage.

Which will you pick?

Likely British for my Dalish Inquisitor, with an ethnically Antivan appearance since it's the closest Latino equivalent in Thedas.

Depends on the type of accents they use, if the British one is Hard Cockney then I won't use it as I'll want to punch the protagonist in the face for the whole game.

Anyone know what accent Qunari had in DA 2?  I wish they'd let Javik's voice actor to be one of the voices for Male Inquisitor. He would've been one badass Qunari Inquisitor. "The joke is on you human, you will believe anything..."

it would be funny if some of the options were bad impressions of Christopher Walken, James Cagney, and John Madden
