Gonna assume the OP is referring to an English accent, as there really is no such thing as a British accent. Hopefully it's not gonna be a jarring cockney accent mind you. Gonna have to hear the voice before I pick either or I'd say.
The Voice of the Inquisitor (English): What will you pick? American or British?

Like most of the above, I'll probably go British for Human and Elves, American for Qunari and Dwarves.

True, I just never understood why Americans say "red, white and blue" as though it's unique to them when a number of other flags use those colours too.
Because 'Merica!

The good news is that the British accent is something that I'm okay with, and certainly fits the canon Inquisitor I want to play. I'm just hoping for the American one to be good enough to fit my Saarebas Inquisitor.

The male "British" accent they've been using so far sounds slightly Welsh, he's the one from the trailers. We have no idea how the other three voices sound, though.
(And I think Mike was using "British" in the sense of describing any accent that could come from a part of Britain, rather than one accent that would be considered representative of the entire country. British accents include Scottish, English, Welsh, Cornish, RP, 'northern', etc.)

Hey, don't knock hamburger and beer. If there's one thing young people and their high food standards have done for the world it's made some damn fine and fancy hamburgers and beers.
That said define British accent here. Actually define American accent while we're at it. It'd be pretty bad if the only two options for an elf inquisitor (especially since they're Dalish) are classic regal English accent and Newcaster American.
Man they really should have just gotten John Barrowman as the male inquisitor. You want your inquisitor to be British? Well then your inquisitor is audibly from Glasgow. You want American? Then your inquisitor is Jack Harkness, you lucky dog.
While i love Jack Harkness, he does not do an American accent well. he sort of sounds like how we think people talked in the 1920s, at least for me. Hugh Laurie is the only english actor I have heard speak an American accent well. But goodness knows we have a ton of accents here, so I may be confused.

If I like both voices, I'll do different characters with different voices. Cool stuff.

Right, the thing is that most people will confuse British accents with each other, and probably assume working class accent = British accent. In England you have tons of different dialects, Northern, Southern, Working Class (cockney), Upper Class, Essex, Chesire, Manchester etc. But Scottish, Irish, English & Welsh are distinct and thus I find it jarring that they are classified as British accents, it'd be just as annoying as someone saying a bloke from Sweden has a Scandinavian accent. I imagine that they so-called 'English accent' will either be upper-class like how Jo Wyatt sounded -- Generally speaking it's probably gonna be an English one. That's the point I wanted to make.

I kinda hope the American voice will be Steve Blum, but only and I really mean only, if he uses the same voice as he did as Spike Spiegel.
Otherwise, I want someone else ![]()

There are lots and lots of American Accents, I just hope the voices are good. Not so concerned about accents, though of course I do have favorites. Love Welch, Irish, as long as the voice is good the accent is just icing on the cake.
Hugh Laurie is one I like a lot. Actually I just found out Christian Bale did the voice of Howl in animation Howl’s Moving Castle and I liked it. Also love Jack Harkness' voice so wouldn't care what his accent sounded like. ![]()
American I like the "cowboy" accent, Sam Elliott, LOVE Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins, wouldn't expect them, but that type of voice would be nice. Not a big fan of the real slow Southern drawl
So many voices Gary Sinise, Hill Harper, Wallace Langham, John Dallas, Raphael Sbarge, Colin O'Donoghue, Brandon Keener
OK I'm thinking of voices I'd like to hear as LI and companions. Got side tracked here.
But really any of them as my male character wold be great. Also any of them as the LI/Companion would be great.

Probably already been said but there is no such thing as a British or US accent, unless you mean the generic psudo accents of TV and film. If my female 'british' inquisitor sounds like Kiera Knightly then I will go with US - atleast that way I can't get annoyed by the fake and unrealistic accent (as I don't know the equivalant in US, not being from those parts).

Agreed with Sam Elliott's cowboy persona -- Love that in Lebowski. Bale also did the voice of John Smith in Pocahontas.
Think I have a list of voice actors I'd like to hear in Inquisition. Looking forward to hear how it'll turn out.

The British accent doesn't sound as strong as Hawke's was, so I might actually be able to stand it this time around. I want to hear the American one. I could go for a Mark Meer-level of Canadian, though.

British. I'm a sucker for a British accent
And since Alix Wilton Regan is English, its still a possibility she might voice the female inquisitor

Whichever one sounds better, hahah. Accent is irrelevant if the voice doesn't fit your character.
Yeah that sounds about right, if the Brit voice doesn't match my character then I won't want to use it, and vice versa.

It depends on how I feel during the character creation. I plan on my first/main/canon Inquisitor to be a Male Qunari Rogue who's highly intelligent and knowledgeable about the world of Thedas. I'm leaning towards British but I'm having trouble picture a Qunari sounding like the voice I here from the trailers I've seen so far. Perhaps if there is a slider I can use to raise or lower the pitch it can work though that remains to be seen.
