I was hoping someone has tried this already (since it would take an entire playthrough of Origins to actually figure it out myself) and could clear this up for me...
If you play Origins and let the Warden sacrifice himself/herself in order to kill the Archdemon, can you carry over the plot points of that playthrough into Awakening (which I know I'll have to play with an Orlesian Warden) of will your character magically be alive again? ![]()

no. you begin as Orlesian Warden. but you carry plot points i believe.
i have somewhere a save with my AW, girl was so pretty. I am sure Alistair actually mentioned her, so yes i believe you can carry plot points even to DA2.

If you import a Warden who sacrificed themself, they will return from the dead for the Awakening campaign. However, when you import this to DA2 it'll go back to your Warden sacrificing themself, and presumably an Orlesian Warden making all the choices you did.
The only way to avoid a sudden-then-undone resurrection is to create a new Awakening game, no imports -- giving you an Orlesian Warden, but not carrying over your Origins choices.

Yep, you are alive. I guess the import isn't capable of keeping you from importing a dead character. Probably doesn't have any kind of flag trigger to keep it from happening or maybe BW figured people might want to play the character they spent all that time leveling up. Also, since it's an end of the game DLC that came out after many played their characters, it would suck for people who loved characters that did the US and now because of that cannot play the DLC. That was kind of flawed whereas when you look at skyrim, you trigger those DLCs very early in the game. One afer you deal with the dragon at whiterun I think. The other I forget when but fairly early. Even hearthfire happens when you get through the gates the first time I think so you can build your house very early in the game.
ME2 was like that as well though. It's DLC was kind of end of game oriented. Not all but some though it wasn't forced to be end of game. Arrival kind of makes more sense as end of game content as maybe the geth one does too... forget the name.... They had to change that though for ME3 because it would not be possible given the outcomes.

If you are on PC, someone figured out a way to play an Orlesian Warden while importing all the choices of a US Warden. Only hitch is that the Orlesian will look just like the Warden.
