Thanks for the replies everyone ... how about revising it to 5 in passives and 3 in fitness?

At least that way you get the %10 movement speed, plus some health (although losing the %12.5 weapon damage hurts).

i really want to find a way to get rank 6 pull on him ... too bad this isn't one of the kits you could have an all 6 build on

And yes, i anticipate I'd get downed more than usual (which is saying something for those who have played with me can attest lol)

Better already, but still far from optimal. I mean, if you really want to do that, then go ahead and do that, so long as you have fun, nothing's wrong. But it's definitely not the most efficient way to play the kit...

I would try it man, if it works for you, fantastic. If not, respec cards and you're none the worse for the attempt.

You can try it next time we play, since I'm the only one encouraging you, that way I @ least also pay the price if it ends up being rubbish.

I'll run the Drelldept, or maybe the GI so we don't fight for nades, we'll nuke spawns together.

this. For the fastest spawn wrecking, turn to BSN. Ignore all this crap and do what you like when it's time to have fun.

True, I do recognize the skipped Pull build is optimal .. it just gets a little dull at times. Shoot, charge, grenade, grenade, shoot anything left, repeat. Been doing this since the beginning .. so just looking for something new.

Good of you to respond so civil when I know the thread title probably makes you ill  lol

@Ocelot - tx man .. may well try that

I would probably go 6/6/6/4/4 in that case. I would also go BC rank 6a for a Charge -> Pull -> charge for killing the stragglers outside of the group you just wrecked. This is clearly hypothetical though.

Haha thanks for recognizing that :)

I think I showed it with the first answer, right?    :pinched:

But yeah, I usually talk about min max builds and whatnot, but having fun should always be first priority  :)

Good point, right after I posted last time I realized that 4 in passive / fitness would probably be the way to go .. only losing %15 damage on the nades that way but extra fitness

With that build, you should consider running an acolyte...

I have in the past, and I do like the acolyte on him.

Having said that, I don't want to be bothered switching between weapons with him (ie to the smg sidearm). And I find the Talon to be an effective weapon for shield stripping and armored units. Best of both worlds really

the drell vangod is squishy and so if you go no fitness, surly you will need to rely on biotic charge returning your shields more than normal. so surely if you start casting pull, then you take a hit, your as good as dead waiting for pull's cooldown to get out the way.

I think it was only meant as a joke originally, but skipping biotic charge, or at least not relying on it with 6 points in it, may be the best way to use pull.

how about this?

@Roboticsuperman - actually I kind of like the idea .. I can remove points in BC .. maybe go 4 in charge (for radius) and 4 in passives, thus keeping max fitness. Although i'd probably not use the Adas on him   lol

But I just realized that would affect my BE damage w pull/charge combo ... hmmm

but it wouldn't affect the pull nade combo...

and the adas isn't too bad for striping shields from a far and staggering them, improving survivability. and cryo rounds cos frozen people don't shoot, only hunters <_<

but I was also thinking of recommending the typhoon...

edit: also with nades you could detonate multiple cryo explosions and pull's BE

f*** it! im doing it!

...in the morning

Pull/nades would still be a 6+6 BE.

Edit:  ^^

Personally I'd still want the opportunity to Pull first, detonate w/ BC, then nade what's left. Also, you'd lose the change to gain 100% of your barrier back w/o a fully spec'd BC. Which, since his barrier is so little as it is, maybe that actually wouldn't matter much.

I play him with bonus charge instead of 100% barrier, so id be more used to only getting half back.
you don't really notice the difference is barriers, but you do notice charging 6 times in a row.

I once skipped cluster nades on the Drellguard... so I suppose this ain't as crazy or stupid.

Still, the pull + charge BE thing didn't really tickle my fancy.

Well, adrenaline mod III is mandatory to be playable without fitness.

With it, it becomes fun.

The Drell have an innate racial speed bonus without ANY ranks in Fitness at all.
Fitness gives a further +10% bonus at rank 1, and another +10% at rank 6. When people talk about the 20% Drell speed bonus they seem to gloss over the fact that half of it is gained for 1 point and the other half comes 20 points later.

Everything else gained from Fitness in between those bonuses is negligible, and every Drell kit is perfectly fine with the token 3 ranks in it in favor of evolving the passive and three powers.

Pull improves dramatically from rank 3 to rank 6: doubling its targets, becoming a fire and forget DoT for power damage passive & amp builds, and a multi-source power for x1.75 biotic explosions. The same degree of improvement per points spent cannot be said for Drell Fitness.

The ability to elminiate 2 minions/elites from the pool of 8 active enemies, let them drift to death while you go replenish grenades, then detonate them if/when other enemies close in is FAR more valueable than an extra 112 barrier, 15% barrier recharge delay, and 10% movement bonus on a character that can Biotic Charge every <4 seconds

Anything that can be Pulled can also be shot or Charged just as quickly and eliminated. And on Gold+ most enemies can't be Pulled. Even with the buffs it got it is a very limited power. It's fun, but you're just kidding yourself with on-paper arguments about its relative scaling and infrequent biotic explosions.
