Really? I thought Morrigan has a kid with another unnamed Grey Warden if you refuse the dark ritual?
If I remember right, she even says as much when you meet her in Witch Hunt.

Nope and I played Witch Hunt recently (about two months back) with a save that had Alistair doing the US.  Nothing in the Origins epilogue about a kid, nothing in Witch Hunt  If you're not either a male Grey Warden romancing her, or if you don't do the DR, there is no child and the Old God's soul is gone, along with the Warden or Alistair or Loghain.

I suppose its a fair assumption if the person's only played Dragon Age: Origins and doesn't know when DA:I takes place.  Of course, not having to do the DR should still put a hamper on the theory, but they may think Bioware's okay with just not acknowledging certain situations.

I don't recall that. Anyways it wouldn't work unless Morrigan hauled her butt to the Grey Wardens in Orlais in trully record time because otherwise, the Soul of the Old God has been destroyed, making the sex rather pointless.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up.

No problem.   :)

I'm sure it's been a bit for you since you played and between the forums and memory being fuzzy, it gets all mixed up.  Gods know that happens to me on the forums enough.

Personally I think OGB should have been canon because it just seems something that is important or can be important in future games

They're unimaginative, naturally.

Agreed.  Something as potentially big as the OGB should have been made cannon.

I'mgoing with no, because... have you seen how this fan base get when their illusion of choice is broken. and thats over little stuff.

I was going with the idea that they should have made him cannon in the first place, as in starting from Origins.  Not after the fact, with the kid's existence being up to the player.  I agree that it would cause a lot of outcry if they changed it now.

People are often ignorant on the matter. Also,Morrigan doesn't die in Witch Hunt.

EDIT: I realized I was offending anyone who believed in the theory. Sorry!

Well, only the truth is offensive...

What did you hope to accomplish by making another thread to whine about it?

that would cause less work for them at the very least... I'm sure some people would find problems with it anyway.

The creation of a thread to whine about people whining about this, and then another thread to complain about that thread, and on and on forever.

It would have been beautiful.

Given Bioware's recent tendency to rewrite player choices with ME3 I honestly think they could be shoehorning the story the OGB direction on some level even if the Inquisitor is just some hapless random that has some "destiny", "fate", or just dumb luck and ends up having to save the world

The OGB is over-rated.

I remember the same situation when the first details of DA2 came out, lot of threads claiming Hawke was the OGB.

I think the dark ritual is one of the most important choices in DAO of which we haven't seen anything about it in other games or dlcs (just a vague reference in witch hunt) that's why I think most people want to see the consequences of that choice and that's why they hope to see the OGB in any form.
