I never really pay attention to the hours a game advertises to be honest, as I am a slow player. I wander around, mapping out every square inch of game, do every possible quest and explore every possible option. I've probably spent hundreds of hours in each game so far doing multiple play throughs.

It's up to you to set the pace ;)

Depends on players. Some take longer than others. I myself tend to wander off and do (hopefully) all side quests available before advance to the next part of main story. So normally it takes me around 40 hours to finish one play through (Or in the case of TES, DS or KoA, till I got bored).

Anyhow, I was happy with DA:O length (roundly 40 -50 hours) and pretty pissed at DA2's (first and only play through clock at a little over 18 hours). Right now, seems like DA:I will pack some good lenghty story, plus vast, somewhat open world to explore, I'm hoping to it will take me at least 40 -50 hours per playthrough, that would be enough to make me happy :)

I think they just confirmed it'll be around 50 hrs if you stick to plot related quests and over a hundred if you do all side quests

Neat!  I don't suppose you have a source for that?

To me the game seems like a 60+ hour game if played the normal way so don’t really care how long the speed runs are.
From what i remember TW2 was done under 2 hours and 30 minutes in the speed run so i don’t see any problem.

Just cause they Made the game Larger, doesn't make the game necessarily bigger in terms of length. This could or maybe also in fact shortened the Length of Inquisition.

I am saying that maybe cause of so much content in Inquisition & the game being Bigger than Origins this could also effect the over-all length of Inquisition.

I am saying the game will probably clock in around 25 Hrs. Most Bioware games are about 40hrs with Dragon Age + DLC Content I clocked in about 35 Hrs with DLC Content installed.

For $70 I want my money's worth and hopefully this game will be over 40 hours.  DA2 was far too short for the price despite being fun.

Its not like you have to finish the game immediately...there will be a save function.  Oh and Origins is way LONGER than that if you are one that likes to do everything.

I'm a little worried about the length as well. They told that the game takes place in Orlais and Ferelden, with the Dales between them. That would mean 3 huge areas. Then you have to decide in what sort of things you want to invest, so you can't visit every location in one playthrough. so that will mean you will have to go through multiple playthroughs to visit all locations. It will shorten the hours per playthrough,

Monoten, keep in mind we get to go to 3 Huge Regions, but also keep in mind we get to go to other Locations, being Countries or smaller areas we never seen before in Dragon Age.

Being Antiva, Neverra, maybe the other Circle of Magi in Thedas, Keep in mind they are 14 Circle of Magi's in Thedas we have only seen a Few in the Dragon Age Universe.

Keep in mind the Orlesian Mage Viviene is from the Circle & also next in line to be 1st Enchanter so it is a good bet we will have some inter-actions with the Mages & also going to the other Circle Towers maybe even Cumberland where Wynne was going to in Awakening.

Also don't forget about possible Future DLC Episodes that could even add in even more Never before seen Locations maybe even go to the other City-States of The Free Marches being Tentarvale or Starkhaven, which we never go to explore those Countries in Dragon Age 2.

Also I would love to go to Par Vollen the Tropical Island Nation of the Qunari, Keep in mind the Qunari came from someplace Else, they just migrated to the island about 300 to 400 years ago. Then made a truce with every Country in Thedas minus the Teventer Emporium which is another Place I would love to visit. Also I would love to see the 2nd Drawf Kingdom which is also Near Orlais

I say if you are a completionist like I am, then Inquisition you could squeeze about 50 hrs if you do Side-Missions, Collect & Explore everything like I do.

But if you rush Inquisition just doing the main Story then it would take about 25 hours.

@Whatnow

If you read through Ser Cambria's link, the devs are estimating 50-100 hours.

Zatche I am just making an educated guess on Inquisition's Length this is an educated guess, Basically trying guess at a Movies Time Length such as Transformers Age of Extinction should clock in around 2 hours or over 2 hours.

People are saying Lockdown in AOE works for Unicron & Unicron could even be teased or even in AOE. Also did you know AOE mark my 30th Anniversary being with Transformers being 1984 - 2014 when I began playing Videogames in 1983.

I am also worried on Current-Gen that Bioware will Half-ASS the Graphics & just rush the game into a complete mess, it will be laggy & buggy.

See, I am playing Inquisition on my Playstation 3, I will be playing Inquisiiton on a HDTV HDMI Cable being a 60 Inch Cloud TV.

So I say on my TV Inquisition will look Damn Impressive & should be on par with Dragon Age 2 or ME 3 in terms of Current-Console Graphics. While I thought Dragon Age 2 had damn impressive graphics so I would be ok if Inquisition looks like that on Current Consoles.

See, I don't have 500 Bucks for a brand new console, so if Bioware keeps on making games for Current PS3 consoles I will keep on buying. I will do the game with Mass Effect if Bioware makes it ALL CONSOLES also.

My other issue I am worried on is IMPORTING, also Dragon's Keep which I have made several TC about DK.

While the most vaguest of details have been revealed on DK the Most important issues have been IGNORED.

How does this Work on a Console

Online Connections Required

Cost of the Keep

Using a USB Flash Drive

Previous Saves doing a Normal Transfer without the need of DK if you are playing Current PS3 & 360s.

I think I understand his concern. The trade off between quest time and exploring time and if increased exploring time will decrease overall quest content.

I hope not.

If the game itself clocks in around 40 for me then I'll be a happy person.

AppealToReason, me also I mean I got about that much time out of Mass Effect 3 with DLC Content installed, also the game should fun & highly replayable anyways.

Think about how many romances, you can play the game 4 Different Races, also different Genders also, Qunari for the 1st time this right this is one of the main reasons to get Inquisition enough already.

Keep in mind you have 3 Different Classes, Rogue Warrior Mage, I know people say DA 2 repeat but not necessarily true, for 1 we don't know the powers & abilities will be exactly the same as they were in DA 2.

I am also curious to see the Soundtrack in DA 2, just as much as the game itself, Bioware usually does well on Soundtracks such as ME 2 & ME 3 also loved Dragon Age 2s soundtrack so I cant wait to hear Inquisitions musical score.

I just hope it will not be moody. Man I am so pumped up on Inquisition, but for now my focus is on Drakengard 3 which I am getting on May 20th.

So I am super busy right now with DK 3 & also Falling Skies season 4 + AOE This summer

my first run with DA:O = >> 75 hours

and that's before all the DLCs came out.

20 hours is ridiculous.

I am saying the game will probably clock in around 25 Hrs. Most Bioware games are about 40hrs with Dragon Age + DLC Content I clocked in about 35 Hrs with DLC Content installed.

Then you're a quick runner in my eyes. I usually get through DAO+DLC in 60 hours, DAA + stand alone DLC in 20 hours and DAII+DLC in 60 hours. ME games are shorter (about 40-50 hours), yet I've never considered them less value.
