I guess I'm lucky I'm a console user, my laptop can't handle anything but roller coaster tycoon.

I hope you guys'll all be able to play it too.

Ah well. I knew going into it that my system would only barely meet the reqs. I play ME2 now, and upgrade hardware in a few months. As long as I can sit down, see Shepard, and hear gunfire, I'm good.

A thing to keep in mind: if you can run ME1, you'll most likely be able to run ME2 as well.

My laptop is a bit below minimum requirements, (1.66GHz duo Core, NVidia 8400GS, yet plenty of RAM). I checked to see if ME1 and ME2 have the same requirements and guess what? They do. Which is actually to be expected since it is being developed to run on the X360 which effectively has similar specs to my laptop.

Sure, you'll have lower FPS if playing on 'normal' resolutions like 1280x800, but I run ME1 just fine as long as I turn off dynamic shadows, blur, filmgrain and set my texture quality to 'high'.

the site suggested says I can't run ME1 or ME2, but don't let that discourage too much. The actual 'minimum' requirements aren't completely 'minimum' in my experience. Then again, if the 'Can you run it' site says you can, you're pretty much set for an even better experience than I'm having on my lappy which isn't too bad in and of itself.

Agree with Jray. If I have problems running ME2 I'll have to buy a new video card, but according to the system requirements lab I wouldn't be able to play Dragon Age for both processor and video card reasons, and I had no problems whatsoever.

I have to say, though, I HATE nVidia's ridiculous numbered name system where higher vs. lower numbers aren't necessarily better and the letters after the numbers can change things yet again, e.g. a "6800 or greater" is OK but not a 7300, 8200, 8300...etc. or whatever.

So a little over a year ago in Boxing Day sales I bought the least expensive possible computer with an nvidia 7050 on the motherboard, and so far haven't encountered any problems. If I have problems with ME2, I'll just buy another SLI video card to use 2 video cards.

Oddly, I have the opposite problem most people are reporting.  I don't meet the recommended requirements (though I do meet the minimum requirements), yet the recommended tab gives my CPU a "pass":

Recommended:  2.6 GHz Core 2 Duo Intel or equivalent AMD CPU
You Have: Intel® Core™2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz

        PASS

Has the darn thing figured out dual cores are superior to single cores yet? It sure didn't 3 years ago. Anyway I'm trying to prod it into action. It hates me.

I think a better question is "can you run it well".

I would be able to get like 60+ FPS I'm sure at 800x600, but at 1920 x 1080 I'd be lucky to break 30.

I got it to work. Go me. My cpu failed recommended but my new quad core should be able to max out the bar when I get it next month.

Still, I can run most games on high to max with decent fps on my native 1280x1024.

The only requirement not met is the processor speed. I have a dual 1.73ghz :-/

The rest is ok. Do you think I can run it decently?

Woah, I've got a full green bar. I didn't even think I'd meet the recommended specs at all! Wow, I honestly expecting that. Maybe this PC is better than I give it credit for... Windows Xp FTW! =P
I don't want to get it on PC, but still, it's a nice  thought  knowing I can run it. Besides, I'll probably end up getting both versions of ME2 like I did with the first  game.

My old graphics card didn't work when ME1 came out so I bought GeForce 8400, which the guys in the shop said would manage with games fine, but now apparently it's below requirements for ME2...well that's not good for me...

Can You Run It is extremely inaccurate and I suggest you post your system specs in the technical support forum instead. I did the scan myself and it says I'm over the recommended reqs which isn't true at all.

CYRI uses the simple math of 'higher model number means faster card, so 8800GT < 9200'. That is of course balls.

The 8400 is an entry level graphics card which means it's not designed to run games. It's also below the requirements of ME1.

Worked fine for ME1, on highest graphic and texture settings, no trouble at all. Looks like I'm going to have to get a new one though - really angry at the shop guy who sold it seeing as I asked specifically if it would do for games. Posted Image

www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10370/ is much more accurate than CanYouRunIt.

lol... yes.

It's the same game engine as ME1 guys. If you can run that game on your PC you're fine. At most you will need more than 2gb of ram to run textures above medium, but even that I'm skeptical of, especially if you use a lower resolution.

As expected, processor (2.6GHz C2D E4700) and graphics card (9600GT) are bit on the weak size. Good thing my displays native resolution is only 1366x768.

Well, i survived Doom 3 with framerates in the teens, i'll survive this with max settings too :D

Man, no wonder people think they need a brand new computer everytime a game comes out, if they are using utilities like these. I like how right next to this are ads featuring... CPUs and Graphics cards. That's not at ALL suspicious!
