Due to Mass Effect 2 being released soon, why not have some fun?


What was your favorite part about Mass Effect (1) and why?


I've always enjoyed, through all the playthroughs, Virmire because it really brings a different aesthetic to the game than some of the other planets.

Favourite part would have to be the little chat you have with a certain VI at Ilos. There's something quite chilling but also painfully sad listening to it recounting what had happened to the Protheans.

Keith David, er I mean Captain Anderson generally being a badass (headbutting the turian was pretty much the best moment in mass effect 1, imo). Also his speech if you are a renegade and save the council.

 I have to second this. I just did a playthrough going back to my very first character (which I thought was a Soldier but turned out to be an Infiltrator which was so long ago I had forgotten that fact) and even though I done 8 playthroughs I still get a spine tingling chill everytime I go through that chat.

Definitely Virmire. I loved the landscape at really enjoyed the black-ops-theme of the whole mission, along with the two very disturbing decisions you are forced to make there.

Favorite part? Other than when I beat it for the first time, it was pretty much the leading up to the climax to resolution. Heading to the last planet, VI, final confrontation with max charm dialogue, final final confrontation, to the end.

I found the end fight of the DLC Bring the sky down fantasitc, but if I had to pick a moment just from ME1, it would have to be when you meet Liara if you decide to visit her planet last(visiting all planets, including virmire, first), it was a classic comedy moment(I wont mention exactly what happens to prevent spoilers), but it was an unexpected easter egg.

I agree with fl4il, the last few hours of the game are simply AMAZING.

I'm going to say Virmire and Ilos. Both worlds were really interesting but Ilos has a secrecy that I want to explore. I want to find what kinds of secrets are hidden in the planet. Virmire is just different to everything and the mission in Virmire was one of the best. The other moment I liked a lot was when the Alliance ships save the Destiny Ascension and since I can't have enough of that cutscene I will finish Mass Effect before starting Mass Effect 2 when I get it.
