Have you blocked any poster on this site yet? And if so, when, who, and why?

The ignore system is supposed to prevent drama by allowing posters to avoid contact with people they dislike, consider annoying, or find in someway objectionable. Having people name who they ignored would seem to defeat that goal by rekindling old feuds here, right?

 

I have ignored people when it became clear they would just continue to engage in tedious trolling or were particularly tendentious in discussions and it was obvious that there wasn't any point in continuing to read their posts.

I don't see the point in blocking someone. If you dislike a person or the way they post, you should confront and/or report them.

I don't really see the point of blocking (especially in a forum this large) unless there is actual harassment going on.

If I find someone obstinate or objectionable, I generally just skip their posts.

There's only ever being one person on this site that has annoyed me enough to block them and that took pages upon pages of them rambling on and making one absurd statement after another.

Some people get on my nerves but blocking just feels a bit childish tbh.
