Is it possible to preorder just for the Terminus and Blackstorm codes, then returning your Gamestop copy of ME2?

I dont follow... your buying the game to get the codes... then returning the game you need to use the codes.. are you going to order from somewhere else to get the inferno armor too? it might just work, but I think its a really big waste of time.

You can buy the terminus code on ebay. I've already purchased one.

Yes, I would keep the Gamestop copy but they are not taking preorders for the CE editions anymore.



I'd forget about the Terminus and Blackstorm if I could get a straight answer as to whether they're even worth it or not. They look and sound cool to me, though...

This depends on if they are doing DLC codes out of the box. If they give you them separate, you can pre-order the game, get the DLC codes, then return for a full refund.

Hmm.. How can you be sure it works?  I'm buying through Gamestop, so not an issue, but other codes might be nice.

I know this is a little off topic, but I'll post here so I don't need to make a new thread. I preordered ME2 at gamestop back in july, back when they hadn't even announced the collectors edition, so is there any chance that they'll give me a choice to pick CE or not?



Oh and will bioware be releasing the collectors armor and weapons as a DLC eventually?

If you had gone in after reserving your copy but before they stopped taking collector's preorders you could have switched from the regular to collector's.  I am in a similar situation i reserved my copy about a week after they stopped taking collector's editions.  i was told that they may still get some extras or some crazy person(only sane if for monetary/budget reasons) may cancel and then i could switch the when i go to pick it up at midnight.  I would just ask a manager before you go pick it up.  I did used to work there so I may get told things they don't tell others.

You understand where these codes come from, right guys?

Instead of giving them away to their customers, these weasels sell them online for money instead.

Im not talking about selling 1 code you get, cause you dont want it. Im talking about storeowners selling dussins of them. I've even seen pictures of these bonus cards listed 10 together. Its a new kind of scam. these things should be free, to the customers. Instead they profit for themselves. Basterds.

Well if you order online they e-mail you the DLC codes, least they did for my Forza 3 and Left 4 Dead 2, so in many ways if you then return the copy when they send it to you, there is no way for them to try and take back the codes.

Yesterday I was in a play-through session of the Zaeed mission (super cool!)

The player (QA staff) used the Terminus weapon at one point. It really is completely awesome, so if you are gonna buy it, and you are likely to get it at Gamestop, don't miss your chance to get it by pre-ordering (just my recommendation). It's very unlikely to be sold at a later date via DLC.

... except for the fact that Gamestop sold out of the CE before Black Friday. I'm getting a CE from Amazon. Please tell me that the Collector's Armor and Inferno rifle aren't going to be DLC while the Blackstorm is.

I couldn't get a CE from the gaemschtoppo so i pre-ordered the regular for the code and asked if I could return it un-opened if I managed to get a CE from somewhere else and was told that they don't have a problem with returning it. So hopefully i'll get the terminus gear and the inferno from my CE pre-order from bestbuy.

...my ME2 Collector's Edition is enroute, so sayeth EA.com... you know it was cheaper for me to order from EA.com than from Amazon.ca. Pretty embarrassing for a Canadian website that I can order and have it shipped cheaper than getting it in my own country.

...of course, the exchange rate is killer awesome right now makes it easy to ignore that obligatory Canadian $10 mark-up. Automatically pricing games at $59.99 USD and $69.99 CAD no longer makes a lot of sense.

Yeah I got my CE preordered online from GameStop.com.....with a 48 hour shipping...which kind of sucks but I'm getting the regular edition on tuesday from a local GameCrazy for the Inferno Armor so I'll have to make-do with that until I get the CE and all the TRULY amazing stuff like the BlackStorm, Terminus Armor, Collector Armor and Collector AR.

Basically if you buy ME2 new (or digital version), you get the code. If you get a copy for which the code was already used (such as used game or renting or whatever) you can buy one via XBL or via PC instructions in the game menu. Zaeed and Hammerhead are only being released via Cerberus Network yes.
