You got to admit, the veil and mages REALLY DO cause a lot of problems.

Most children in the Circle are between 8-12 years of age since that is when magic usually starts to manifest itself.

I'm talking newborns, or 2 to 3 year olds.

Thanks. I see your point. it is a dangerous place.

Clearly, I can see why a mage doesn't want to be part of the Circle. I guess this is the only point i agree with Morrigan.

Morrigan stated: "You're right. My mother didn't nearly have as many abominations running about. That certainly would have improved my education."

"Abominations running rampant? Templars ready to slaughter every mage in sight? Yes, it rather met all my expectations."

I don't see any point in circle mage marriage. There is no finances to share or future family to be had.

Neither of these is really essential to a marriage. The basic point of a marriage is that you prefer one boinking-partner to all others.

Same here and that is why i was so confused about it. There is no point to it at all because it had none of the benefits.

You don't need marriage for that and marriage doesn't guarantee this.

Agreed. Being married is more than simple financial benefits. It means so much more to a lot of people.

Marriage doesn't outlaw having sex with different people. I would agree with you if marriage made cheating illegal and prosecuted those that did. Otherwise you don't need a fancy paper to have your principles.

For some people Kain, having that "fancy paper" matters. It might not to you, but it does to a sh*t ton of people.

Well maybe they want to show their love and devotion to each other, I was always under the impression that, that was a major reason to get married.

I specifically made sure not to discriminate against open marriages, if that's what you (Edit: and Ghostbuster) meant. As for the rest of it, I'm not saying that it's necessary. I'm saying that it's nice to have.

The fancy paper means something like transfer of property. If you can't do at least one of these ( transfer property or have kids) what is the point? Your wife or husband can cheat on you. Marriage isn't going to stop this.

Which is why you're not supposed to marry a cheater.

You don't have to understand it. People feel different things are important to life. To some, marriage is important, as evidenced by the great number of people on Earth who are married. Some people don't feel like marriage is important. Both ways are perfectly acceptable in my mind. As long as your happy with your choices, I don't give two f*cks.

Lol.

It's okay to murder children as long as they're over six?

"The Chantry takes children away from mage parents for their own protection! Until the children turn out to be mages too, then they can get fucked for all we care."

You can do this without marriage. Lots of people do this. Marriage is granted by government and is used to transfer property to the spouse and children.

It doesn't matter if it's a child or not, murder is murder, age doesn't make a difference.

Nope. However the Circle is reformed, Annulment needs to get scrapped, and we need to research a better way to deal with it.

Meh, maybe drop it. Some people are brought up being expected to marry, it's symbolics.

A: Murder does tend to refer to the deaths that aren't okay.

B: If the kid goes abomination, you can justify a lot younger than that.

Yes, you are supposed to trust whoever you're marrying. Why is this a refutation of my point that marriage can be a cool thing, symbolic or not?

I dropped that a long time ago in all aspects of my life for good. Sorry if I sound different. Sometimes I am just baffled by some things.

Most people are getting married because their are benefits for their spouse and children. If you told them they were not allowed to have kids or transfer property, I don't think they would be happy.
