So mages can close the tears?
Potentially. But that was a centuries old maleficar. I don't know if there any that are strong enough to do it currently.

That's not the point, the point is the possibility. Possibilities are endless.
If mages could close the Veil Tears, there wouldn't be any need for the Inquisitor. So obviously mages can't close these Veil Tears.

I dunno. It seems to me the mages could use a meat shield while they close the hellmouths. And a DPS. Maybe a healer.

How do you know? Was our warden THE only warden that could stop the blight in DA:O? No, potentially ANY warden could do it, but we were that special hero.

Or more mages.

Well, the Warden wasn't a unique Warden in any kind of way. He was just the right Warden in the right place, at the right time. The Inquisitor is ACTUALLY unique, in that he has recieved some sort of mark, from having been within the Fade physically. This mark allows him to close the Veil Tears. If any mage could do it, then the need for the Inquisitor would be non-existent. Conclusion: Mages cannot complete this job.

This the Warden who took down a tower full of abominations, a bunch of werewolves, and potentially a dragon cult and its dragon. Not to mention that this Warden stopped a Blight within a year, whereas it's supposed to take centuries to do this. This despite having basically no experience as a Warden. If this Warden wasn't unique, I'd have trouble believing that Soldier's Peak could have fallen.
Also, let's not forget that the Warden can defeat up to three demi-gods in a single playthrough:
Urthemiel, Flemeth and Gaxkang.

Not any mage can do it, I'm sure only a handful can, most of them probably from Tevinter. Just because you have special powers doesn't mean that there is no one capable of similar feats. But hey, let's wait and see, a bit too little information to judge currently. I'm just using logic, since there have been instances previously of mages closing the tears in the games.

The ONLY unique thing about the Warden, is that he is a player character. There is nothing special about him beyond that. The same is not true about the Inquisitor, beause of the mark he recieves in the Fade.

The only case we have witnessed of a mage "closing" a Veil Tear was of Avernus, and he doesn't actually close the Veil, he only strengthens it enough so that the demons won't have it as easy to break through in the future.
You are also applying rather small and insignifcant cases' resolution to a completely unprecedented and worldwide problem, claiming the solution will be the same. You may be using logic, but it is faulty.
I have to admit, I am quite relieved the mages won't be able to hold this card in any negotiation with the Inquisition. I feared we would be forced to make concessions because they were the only group capable of closing Veil tears beyond the demons.
Now, the Inquisitor can just do it himself.

Perfectly reasonable scenario for some anti-mage players btw, and perhaps THAT is the reason inq needs to possess that power, not to ****** off some pro-tempar players and such.
Hopefully but I think it's more likely to be meant as a way to justify why this person no one had previously heard about will suddenly extablish a group important enough to have the Empress and the Divine try to curry favor with.

Better than the husk, imo.

Meh, equally dsigusting.
Even though Veil fixing could be in the mage's ability to do it won't be in this game otherwise the Inquisitor is completely pointless.
And plus it took a centuries old maleficar to do it as well, so it'd require something more than any old mage.Even though Veil fixing could be in the mage's ability to do it won't be in this game otherwise the Inquisitor is completely pointless.
I just hope the qunaris win over tevinter someday, that's when the chantry will learn that problems may come from non-magical sources.

They already know. They're in charge of the history books written about the last time that happened.

The Breaches seem to be special Tears.

What's so special about them?

I don't think anything could be more disgusting than TERA online.
I am disappoint, Kain

LOL. I don't play Tera, but I do drool over some of their character design.
