Ok, so here is the situation:
I completed a first play through and got to level 47. I did a lot of side-missions, especially the ones that the decisions from will transfer to the next game. So I decided to start a second play through to try and get to level 59 or 60. I have a question about that.
If I decide to skip the side-missions that do transfer over in my second play-through, (conrad verner etc.) will those decisions not transfer over to Mass Effect 2? So basically I am wondering if the decisions i made in the first play through will transfer, even if I don't bother with them in the second play through.

It might not be worth it. I read yesterday that if you're a higher level, the only real benefit you'll get is that you'll start at a slightly higher level when you import. A level 60 ME1 character will be imported as a level 5. If you already have your choices set up the way you want them, its probably not worth another 20 hours of your time, as you'd need to remake those choices for your second playthrough.

My understanding is that each time you finish the game it makes a special save. So characters can have multiple end game saves. on the play through you skipped parts in you will obviously not have those parts completed in that particular save game however the first save game will have what you did in the first one.
