Oddly enough, I go for:
Kaidan/Miranda (Both calm, capable biotics driven to do good things)
Tali/Kal'Reegar
James/Steve/Any two asari - And they never speak of it again

Yess Tali and Reegar would be so good. Reegar should've stayed alive, made an appearance in ME3, and have more adorable banter with Tali, still accidentally calling her "Ma'am" ![]()

Reegar died..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................and thus, became a gun instead.

Yeah, that kicks royal butt, but still...Oh Bioware, you and your feeble attempts to make us feel better about a character's totally unnecessary death.
It kinda does tempt me to just have him die in ME2. At least we can see him die heroically rather than go out in a blaze of email.

Yeah, him along with Emily Wong both had the stupidest deaths off-screen.
Reegar's death I can sort of understand. He at least dies in combat, even if it's just in text for us, but Emily Wong's death...
It has all the emotional heft of her being shivved in Chora's Den with a shard of an ancient DVD that used to be Manos: The Hands of Fate. Just random and pointless.
Joker:Shep
Kolyat:Oriana (
)
Femshep:Tali
Kaidan:Ashley (AU)
Javik:Liara?
That is literally the most disgusting fanon pairing in the universe. The one awful thing about the Citadel DLC was how much BioWare was forcing it through Javik's dialogue.
Why do people always have to bring back dormant threads?

Nobody else can have a shot at Mary Blue.I agree with the Doc, but...
Why is it disgusting?
Pairing Javik with anyone but another Prothean makes little sense.
Zaeed & Chakwas
Samara & Kelly
Liara & Feron
Tali & Morinth
Aria & Tevos
Samantha & Diana
Steve & James
Jacob & Kasumi
Jack & Joker
Kolyat & Oriana
Septimus & Sha'ira

I know there is pretty great Javik/Liara fanart. I guess many people have a thing for shipping characters who are polar opposites (ex. Liara/Javik or Miranda/Jack).

Because Javik is very forthcoming with his dislike for Liara and her species, believing them to have squandered his people's gifts to them. The only time he ever plays nice with her is when Shepard asks him to, and even then, he only tells her what she wants to hear so that it will not emotionally affect her ability to perform on the battlefield.
The only primitive he is shown to respect is Shepard. I believe the distant second place belongs to Garrus. EDIT: And Zaeed, of course.
EDIT: Speaking of Garrus, shipping him with Tali is the second most disgusting fanon pairing in the universe simply because of how forced it is.
Vendetta and Avina
The obvious solution for future games is not only to make every character a romance option, but also to include a mini-game where the protagonist can hook up their squadmates. MirandaxGrunt is the genetically perfect couple.
If I actually got to pick a few new love interests to add, Javik, Kal'Reegar, Joker, EDI, Joker+EDI, and Kasumi
I like to imagine Harbinger and the Catalyst as a bickering old couple.

Emily Wong's death and the events leading up to it were actually kind of fun when they were being reposted on the BSN prior to ME3's release, and had a lot of people on the hype train.
I think where the disappointment later set in was not having that also play out or be mentioned in the game.
