Should lead the Inquisition? This was a fun game my buddies and I (all DA fans) played yesterday. Basically, tell us all what fictional character from another series (could be any book, movie, television show, etc) you would pick to lead the Inquisition, and then give us your reasoning. Just a fun thing, and I'd like to see what everyone else says. :D

Batman.

Because Batman.

Daenerys Targaryen. I mean she shows a lot of strength yet has miles of compassion. She's beyond a doubt the best leader I've ever seen. I suppose that applies to real life as well, which is kind of pathetic haha.

Yeaaaaah that's only in the show. At least for now. All I will say about that.

As for me, that's a bit of a tough call. Someone said Roland from The Dark Tower, and that's a pretty good pick. Ruthless enough to do what must be done without going overboard. Plus, he's got revolvers made out of Excalibur. Let's see them demons deal with that.

EDIT: @ Maria Caliban: ok, now that's just not fair. The demons have no chance whatsoever against the Bat. Let's at least keep it sporting.

Most of my favorite characters are massive screw-ups so I'm struggling to come up with someone. Um...

Okay, how about Faramir? From the LOTR books. Not the movies. He's got the self-control of a god (not literally) so no demons would ever be able to tempt him. I recall him being a little reluctant to be a leader, I think, but he'd be pretty much forced into it as the Inquisitor so I think he'd learn to shape up on that front.

Alternatively I'd take Gen, Sophos or Helen from the Queen's Thief books because they're all awesome leaders in their own rights. (Hmm, now I want to have a "Queens Thief" run of the games where they're the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor respectfully...)

Dean Winchester.  He's not afraid to get his hands dirty and do what needs to be done.

Not really

Spoiler

Yeah, but he knew that. A man's got to be aware of his limitations.

Haven't put down an entry of my own. I'm going with Patera Silk from Gene Wolfe's Solar Cycle. Proven leadership ability (presumably genetically-engineered), coupled with no personal desire for power. Intelligence and strong moral convictions, plus unspecified supernatural abilities and divine inspiration. Assuming the Outsider would let him take the job, that is.

True but he didnt know what he was getting into once he left for Kings Landing.

Spoiler
He's the embodiment of Chivalry and if he was to lead an inquisition, he'd succeed no doubt.

Jenny Sparks. She'd kill God to save the world. (Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers The Authority)

Keeping with the cliche of Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire references, I'd have to say Ser Jorah "Friendzone" Mormont. His formidable combat prowess, respectable grasp of tactical theory, and knack for integrating within foreign cultures makes him the "Perfect" Inquisitor.

This man:

3073329-tumblr_maavxwwxau1rgovn7o1_1280.

Not only has he saved the world many times, he started at least 2 golden ages for humanity... Until he got bored with it.

We have a winner. Doom would make an awesome Inquisitor

He isnt fit to play the game of thrones but he's more than effective in war, ask the Targaryens and the Greyjoys. Not to mention he's a top notch swordsmen beating a knight of the kingsguard.

Before I realized that you were talking about the show I was writing a really long and in-depth post that basically consisted of screaming "YOU'RE WRONG!" in the most obnoxious way possible  :D

Seriously though, if "politics" is out of your element you might be a bad choice for Inquisitor.

Really?

Are you sure?

Because I would think that having 'politics' be out of your element is exactly what makes you the right choice.

Death, from Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics, would be the perfect Rogue Inquisitor. Charming, and she takes care of her own, but there's no escaping her.

Why would chivalry work out any better in Thedas than it did in Westeros?

Marade Sunflash or Angvasse Khlaylock for a Warrior Inquisitor. Legit veray parfit gentil Knight aura and all that. Only drawback: it might get a little crowded having them in the same room with Cassandra.

I'm kind of into the Acts of Caine, if it wasn't incredibly obvious. :P

Delenn from Bab 5. She's kind, but understands ruthless calculus. She's handy with a pike, basically has already done this once, and if you dye her hair white she could pass for a short qunari.
