Lord General Castor.
He's an arrogant ****** who seems incompetent but gets the job done. Plus he looks like Freddie Mercury.

How do you... really... what?!
What?
Mal Reynolds.
He'd get sh*t done and be hilarious at the same time. Though Daenerys or Stannis would be pretty interesting.
Major General Spencer Mahad.
I wouldnt say politics, just the politics of Kings Landing lol hes done fine before
That's what I meant. He's always too righteous, too .... follow the rule. He's a great, say, general or warrior. But to be on top, you need more than that. Politics is a hell lot crueler and sicker than battles though. Still, I think he would made a much better king than Baratheon lol
Tears in the fabric of reality and no one thought of calling The Doctor?
He'll have this whole Inquisition thing wrapped up nicely with a bow in a one hour episode!
Thedas' HMO doesn't cover Out-Of-Network doctor visits.
What?
Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong.
I'd probably go with Jim Raynor. If he's allowed to bring the Hyperion along it will be a very short inquisition.
Or Gordon Freeman, just to see him attempt to lead the inquisition without being able to talk.

He was on top though plus from what we know you dont need exceptional skill in politics when it comes to DA.

That's the thing. He shouldn't had left his land in the first place. But he was too good of a man to do that. And he played right into those vultures' hands. Honestly though, personally I think to be a great leader, one need to be a bit cruel and sort of a ****** to get things done and survive the political game.

And what exactly would the revered Eddard Stark do if he was put in charge of the Inquisition?

Mr. Blonde

I'm going with the Demon Queen from Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. She has a genius level intellect in most regards and a firm understanding of economics. She doesn't just know how to conquer a region but how to set up a politically stable and financially successful system. She also knows how to weaken or destroy those who oppose her through economics. Then there is the fact that she managed to convince humanity's hero to serve her within the first 16 pages of the manga.
Anomander Rake. From A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen.
Does what needs to be done. 'Nuff said.
Lucretia Merces from Suikoden V.
She would be running Thedas in no time.
That or Havelock Vetinari from Discworld.

And what exactly would the revered Eddard Stark do if he was put in charge of the Inquisition?
No the events that would occur were at that point, inevitable. How does any of that take away from his skill as a leader? He's put in charge of territories nearly the size of the entire south and has been held in high esteem ever since being named Warden of the North. Whether you would choose him or not doesnt take away from his credentials as a leader and a fighter
So we need someone powerful, knowledgeable in the planes, knows how to deal with demons, is politically capable and... couldn't hurt to be all-around devious and manipulative.
(delves deep into bag of D&D lore...)
Iggwilv.

That said... there is a chance she might not help. As in, do that thing which is the opposite of help. ![]()
Stannis Baratheon.
Winds of Winter Excerpt:
"Your Grace." Arnolf Karstark bowed his head. "An honor." He looked for a seat. Instead his eyes found Theon. "And who is this?" Recognition came a heartbeat later. Lord Arnolf paled.
His stupid son remained oblivious. "There are no chairs," the oaf observed. One of the ravens screamed inside its cage.
"Only mine." King Stannis sat in it. "It is no Iron Throne, but here and now it suits." A dozen men had filed through the tower door, led by the knight of the moths and the big man in the silvered breastplate. "You are dead men, understand that," the king went on. "Only the manner of your dying remains to be determined. You would be well advised not to waste my time with denials. Confess, and you shall have the same swift end that the Young Wolf gave Lord Rickard. Lie, and you will burn. Choose."
It did work for him, very well in westeros.
You've got a very odd definition of "work" there.
I guess you can make a case that running the Inquisition's likely to be an easier job, but wouldn't it be better to have a higher level of competence just in case it's needed?
