SOLVED: "Permanent" connection has been addressed and turned out to be a mistake that was already rectified.

The Origin bit is passable, but a permanent internet connection? As in no offline play? Tell it ain't so...
I hope that's some sort of typo soon to be rectified and it may refer to calling in the mothership to check if the account is legit, with offline play then being possible.
PERMANENT connectivity would be the point of no purchase for me.
Cmon Allan, please rub that lamp, or whatever it is you are doing. I'd like to see an answer to this asap. Persistent-online DRM is a non-starter for me. Just ask SimCity and Diablo 3.
I know it's important to you, but it's also the weekend. I have no assurances that my inquiry has even been seen yet. I wouldn't expect a response until Monday.
Do they really though? I've seen tons of satire on that point but can't remember ever reading any official statement that says anythign remotely similar to that.
I've deleted most of the preceding tangent but no, we don't feel that if you are critical of EA that you must be a homophobe. I'd prefer to not derail this thread any further to discuss it.

Why is GameFly saying it requires a permanent connection: No idea.
Of course if you want to take advantage of certain DAI services you will need to have access to the internet, but not permanently. You may have heard about the Dragon Age Keep.
