I'm pretty confident this isn't true
This title requires EA Origin and a permanent internet connection to play

I'm wondering how this will effect people like myself who are getting it for Xbox 360 due to a lower-end computer. Are we doomed if we can't afford Xbox live?
Playing games online/using the Xbox store type stuff is free. My question is, are the people who have one of the old xbox 360s without built-in wireless doomed? 'Cause I can either afford this game or afford a wireless thingy, but not both. And I don't have a wired way to get internet to my xbox.

Cmon Allan, please rub that lamp, or whatever it is you are doing. I'd like to see an answer to this asap. Persistent-online DRM is a non-starter for me. Just ask SimCity and Diablo 3.
I know it's important to you, but it's also the weekend. I have no assurances that my inquiry has even been seen yet. I wouldn't expect a response until Monday.

I have crappy internet connection but after I installed ME2 I never had to login or connect to play the single player game on pc. I imagine it won't be a problem on the PS4.

Yeah, that is fair. Thank you for sending up the flares. For what it is worth, I do think this is just an error or a typo, but it is just one of those sensitive topics that tends to send people into a tizzy.

Are you referring to BioWare, EA or to the "news" site?

I'm pretty sure we showed them they can't get away with it with the whole SimCity4 backlash. Don't think EA is stupid enough to purposely head down that hell hole again.

*IF* DAI requires constant internet connection, I know I'm for sure picking up a PS4 copy. But as it's been said already, EA probably already learned their lesson after the Sim City ordeal.

All of these games say they require a permanent internet connection, when in fact all of them can be played offline. I'm thinking GameFly just badly worded their note about Origin requirements.

Mass Effect 3, while not requiring a permanent connection, does require that you have an active connection when you first launch the game in order to access any single-player save that has DLC content in it.
If you have the Collectors Edition, this is every single single-player save as it automatically puts DLC content into your game at the start.
Although I can't see them doing always online for DA:I. A similar DLC verification system to ME3 yes, but not a permanent connection.

Well, I have a Standard Edition and it requires me being online every time I boot up the game if I want to play with the DLC content, which, with my connection, is an absolute pain.
My internet connection sucks, to put it mildly. I'd be willing to go through the pain of the DLC authentication every single time I want to play, lengthy as it is, but being always online would mean endless frustration. So please, no.
