I always picture Shepard as being seasoned and experienced (being as I chose War Hero Colonist), so I wanted to make him look at least in his 40s but still somewhat young and appealing. I'll post more as soon as I can.
(Plus for you Pendulum fans out there he kinda looks like Rob Swire)
Started replaying the game, finally managed to recreate one of my 'canon' Shepards in ME. (I hadn't saved the sliders the first time around and considering there are no facial codes...)

Shepard as I know him. Finally entered the world of ME2 for real. Physically in doubtful shape before. But now he's ready to go all the way.

The import system worked very well with your shep, they all look alike.
I made one my fem Shep to look like my older sister(Miss asked me can I make her and if I manage to do it to give her 'facemorph' later) and yes I made her completely same(which was pain in the a$$ to make,because I needed to mod game myself,go trough gibbed a lot,then apply some morphs,make eyes,nose and especially lips same as hers...which was biggest pain in the a$$ to get correctly done)...but in the end I did it...I present to you my sister Shepard(by the way it's creepy how same they look):

ME1's character creator seriously frustrates me I must admit, and I wasn't looking forward to making a second maleShep for my current run. He's not too bad though, my main goal was that he'd be quite visually different from my first Shep, Cailan, so that I could easily differentiate them in my mind (especially important for me as they have the same VA). So, here they are. No mods for the faces, just a high res mod for the whole game to get a better resolution.
Also, a lot of ME1 is quite dark, so I've upped the brightness quite a bit just so you can get an idea of what they look like.

And my latest, Jack Shepard, my primary goal being 'make him look different to Cailan'...he's okay I guess, though at times in cutscenes he's squinty McSquinty-face Renegade, selfish, rude, stubborn, blunt and really doesn't give a damn.

Here's a few of Megan Shepard. She's had many names but this face has become the default for me. I do find it really hard to play with a different Shepard now.
I'll have to organise. Too many images scattered about my hard drive.
Well,since my Shep looks the same all 3 games,here's some pics I took during ME3.
I kind of f*ed up on the nose tho. And the hair in ME3 looks like a wig.
Yeah I tend to leave my Shapard looking more or less the same in all 3 too haven't got a playthrough on the go atm but I'll likely be doing some more before MEA comes out.

Btw I've never managed to see the facial scars in high resolution as your image. I installed the MEUITM, but still I don't see them very well.
May I ask you if you have any mods installed or if you know any fix to get this high resolution?
This is my best Shepard yet. All I changed was her hair in ME3 (6 months doing nothing, hair will likely grow lol), but her face transferred over nicely in each game without needed tweaks.

I'm jealous, my canon femshep transferred to ME3 sooooo badly. It was like she'd had a a very bad facelift.
Thanks! Yeah it took a lot of tries (over 20) to get a decent one. I had to tweak many others. She's the only one so far that transferred nicely.
My new paragon femShep in ME1.
She's based on the default face but I tried to make it softer so she'd be cute, which suits her character.
Fingers crossed she transfers to 2 and 3 nicely.
I hadn't played any of the Mass Effect games in a long time but decided to once again play through all the games... So I chose the default female Shepard preset and changed a few things (mouth, nose, eye brows, brow, etc) and ended up with her:
She's an engineer, 100% paragon with maximized charm. I just finished Mass Effect 1 with her a couple of hours ago and after a little break I'm gonna import her into Mass Effect 2...
He looks a real badass.

Sorry for being so late with a reply, but I've forgotten to check what's happening on this site, being busy elsewhere.
It was so long since I played that game that I don't quite remember all that I did to improve the image or the game as such. I did use a couple of higher resolution mods, but those were for Garrus' face and Dr. Chakwas. But I found some notes in my folder for ME mods indicating that I might have used Martigen's ME TextureLODSettings and some SweetFX tweak. Google for these things to learn more about it.
Other than that, some scenes in the game, given the lighting etc, just seem naturally better for showing detail. And I think some scars are more prominent than others.

Im late to the Mass Effect party (and to this thread!) currently playing through the trilogy for the first time and loving it. Here is my renegade Shepard, he's done terrible things but he's hot. I hope I uploaded this correctly.
