I had this idea of Our warden, Hawk and inquisitor getting to fight the "big bad' at the end! Like using all three of them to fight and restore order! Or have a mission where we go to fight something with the warden or Hawk or both lol. Oh and at the end it can show all three of them and companions sitting around randomly eating dinner or something (avengers reference lol)

What do you think?

I wouldn't want that, depends also on your actions with Hawke/Warden,you could end up being enemies,i prefer not to see them, having NPCs/Companions mention them such as Morrigan,Leliana, etc is enough.

No offense to OP, but that sounds painfully trite.

I'd rather the Warden and Hawke didn't show up at all. I rather wish Bioware hadn't had Leliana drop that "EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED" line.

I'm hoping previous player characters don't make an appearance.

The Warden was the last great player character that had real player ownership / agency. However they try to handle it will probably destroy that. Hawke is less of a problem because we didn't have much control as it was - but there was still some feeling of it.

Best to leave them well and truly out of it and at best reference them off doing their own things.

I'm hoping we at least see The Warden on the battlefield, even if they are off in the distance carving a path through the enemies. I can't say i don't want to see them at all until I've played the game and seen what the developers actually do with the 2 previous player characters. Saying "i never want to see the warden again because reasons" basically sets yourself up for disappointment.

Even if you felt D:AO did that - which I disagree with - DA:A made it clear you had no ownership when Bioware overrode your character's personality and made it mandatory that 1) you wanted to be a GW and stay in the order to keep playing and 2) not only did you become a loyal GW all of a sudden, but you decided to actually lead the order in Ferelden.

I understand that if you choose to leave Ferelden for a while in DA:O, it can make returning as the Warden-Commander in DA:A pretty questionable, but the epilogue in DA:A does seem to reflect that previous choice, since your character does step down once it's determined that the Blight is truly over, which is my outcome for Origins. I don't remember exactly what the codex in DA2 says on this subject though if you went this route though.

I am not afraid like some, I would want bioware to bring back the past players characters, I trust in bioware to make their encounter right.

As badass as it would be I doubt that. They will either be mentioned or show up in a way that you won't see their face or hear them talk.It would probably go off your old characters class & abilities. You hope, though.

impossible.

hawke was heretic blood mage (according ot the cgi trailer and my gameplay), his fater was heretic.

All grey wardens are blood mages heretics semi darkspawns rebels.

Burn them all...!

Hmm...  Sounds cool, but I can't help but think about all the complications of trying to make it work...

One: the combat in DA:O and DA2 is different from that in DA:I from what we've seen.

Two: Several specializations have been removed/changed (i.e.: Arcane Warrior, Champion, Shapeshifter, Spirit Warrior, Legionnaire Scout, Ranger, Battlemage, Keeper) so Wardens with those specs will have to be altered as well.

Three: Weapons.  Since a warrior in DA:O can use any weapon except a staff and the DA2 equivalent can only be a S&S or two-hander warrior, it will be very complicated to figure out how to make builds like DW and archer warriors work in DA:I.  Not to mention that in DA2, rogues we limited to daggers or bows.

Four: Fighting styles will make things complicated.  You can play as a DW warrior, S&S warrior, archer warrior, or two-hander warrior in DA2 and DW rogues can use any one-handed weapon they have the strength/dexterity to use in DA:O.  Obviously, this won't return in DA:I.

Five: Tactics.  As we all know, you could set your tactics to have your Warden/Hawke and companions fight in a way that best suited your play style.  And since the vast majority of abilities/spells we had in DA:O and Awakening were taken away in DA2, it is likely that not many will return, if any.  This will also cause complications with whatever fighting they may be involved in.  Same goes for Hawke.  Like with DA:O and Awakening, it is entirely possible that there will be spells and abilities from DA2 that simply aren't in DA:I.

Six: Spells and abilities.  Many of the spells and abilities that did carry over to DA2 were changed in terms of their activation, speed, effects, or any combination of all three.  It is more than likely that the same will happen in DA:I, which, again, would cause complications when it comes to fighting.

Overall, it's just not practical.  I don't see how BW would be able to do this if they actually were.  While it is cool, I just can't see it working.   :?

One Word: Unlikely.

Especially with no direct savegame-import.

Well, of course it sounds like an interesting turn of events... like all your choices from preivous DA as well as the super-badass-charakters you created come together for an epic endbattle... but it's also hard to integrate with the storytelling and might hurt the reputation of the inqusistor - as if he and his organsation can't handle things themselves.

Well, at least i'm looking forward for meeting morrigan again and maybe getting some information about what happened with her and the warden in the meanwhile.

Lol I thought this thread was going to be about who would fin in a fight between Warden, Hawke, and Inquisitor. :P

Warden would win in a physical fight.

Hawke would win in a battle of sarcastic wits.

Male Inquisitor would win in overall douchebaggery (going from his looks in the trailers).

Actually, my human-hating city elf would win that too.  Considering how the vast majority of NPCs you meet are human... well, I think you see my point.

I'm not just talking about choice though. I'm talking about player agency.

The warden was highly variable physically and wasn't voiced.

But they didn't do that.  You had the option to keep BioWare's hands off your character by not playing as him in Awakening.

Furthermore, leading the Fereldan GW doesn't make you a loyal GW - it just makes you look like one.

+1 points =)

I would like that!!

In my 1st play on DA:O my warden choose to side with the mages

and I did the same with Hawke in DA:2 siding with the mages too...

And now I'm preparing another perfect save siding with the templars hehehe in both games...

So.. I would like to see how this will change in my playthrough on DA:I
