She did mention they had ways to prevent pregnancies in the circle. Its just that she and gregoir chose to keep their love child

Who said it was Gregoir?

I don't know. The Maker comes across a lot like Yahweh. I do not envy the man who spills his seed upon the ground.

Other methods; herbal remedies to help prevent it in the first place, or essentially "day after pills". Andrastism may or may not have hangups about this kind of thing but I'd imagine they'd be lax in the circle as they of all people want to keep mage briths down.

I have to imagine Thedas has some form of birth control. We've had reasonably effective forms of it in the real world for thousands of years.

Could be it wasn't 100%. That 1 in 10 tries could have been the problem.

Maybe the circles should have been sexually segregated.

Wouldn't have done any good, wasn't Rhys' father a Templar?

Anyway, I loved Wynne in DA:O and DA:A, she was a great mentor to my Mage Warden in particular. Still, I felt that her voting against the Circle breaking away from the Chantry was a mistake, I could imagine my Warden having some issues with her regarding that choice, although they would probably have agreed with her anti-War sentiment. Still need to read Asunder, but know the plot due to my inability to not read spoilers...

Well could be they didn't check the potency of the herbs. One year the crop wasn't up to standards.

I consider the Templars to be apart of the circles so segregate them too.

Of good lord we are back to talking about bloody birth control in Thedas!

Silly me.

Now you have frustrated Templars making deals with desire demons.

I eventually warmed up to her. Didn't particularly care for her at first. But after multible playthroughs, she grew on me. Even though her time was done, it was still sad to read her death and funeral.

At least she had multi-dimensional views, something which can't be said of many characters.

They also have magic. I am sure they can use some sort of magical abortion spell and as well as herbs to terminate the pregnancy.

They have FAR more military discipline than sparkly fingers, but if they want to be idiots then death awaits them.

Also Templars get leave, they can go visit brothels so that problem takes care of itself.

One of my favourite Bioware characters of all time

Kind, caring, wise, brave. An example for any mage or non-mage

It's darn sad she died far away from her home, but she died like a hero

My Mahariel will dearly miss her and visit her grave as often as she can

I will say that I hope Evangeline survives the mass culling I anticipate at the start of DAI; would be a shame if Wynne's sacrifice was for nothing.

Yeah, cause the Templars in Kirkwall were the peak of self-restraint and discipline...

too preachy and too annoying.... Why the healer mages on Dragon age games have to be so annoying? first Wynne, then Anders.

Bethany is technically a healer.

I didn't like her much in Origins. She was judgmental and Pro-Circle, but then in Awakening she didn't seem like she was so Pro-Circle anymore. She seemed to want mages to gain rights and stuff which confused me because that's not what I gathered from Origins.

Some of them didn't fare well in the whorehouse in Kirkwall.

Wynne should have been a romance option for the May/December crowd.

Contradictory characters between games are a BioWare hallmark.

Wynne believes that mages need to be trained and policed by an outside and that the circle is the best way to do that. She doesn't like how circles are practically prisons. Though she disagrees with the Chantry about many things, it's always been obvious that she thinks the best way to approach reform is through peaceful methods.

She definitely become more disticntly anti-templar in Asunder, but she's seen a lot more in Asunder.

Who knows, perhaps wynne was his mentor at one point. Maybe even lover based on her comments with Alistair ;-)

I do rather agree with Wynne's stance regarding the circle, though at the same time I think, come Asunder, she didn't really realize the seriousness of the situation and how the time for her method had passed.

It wasn't her beliefs that bothered me, was just her general personality.
