KILLER BATS!
No really I have no idea... I don't think Fallout is in a great place these days..

FO4 formula:
95% Skyrim with guns, 5% FONV
FO4 needs less bugs, better graphics, Truly Mature content worthy of a Mature rating
KILLER BATS!
Oh wait... already suggested that.. sorry my imagination is sputtering.
I think what I'd like to see honesty is just more Fallout 1/2 silliness less Fallout 3/New Vegas paved over comic shenanigans... that would be nice.

Hell, Skyrim could have improved on things from FONV, but I don't see Bethesda capitalizing on FONV regardless.
I also recommend against expecting "mature" content from Bethesda besides their usual infantile humor...
A toggle for third person view.
Was introduced in Fallout 3 and will likely be in F4.
If Fallout 4 is set in Boston then...
It would be awesome to have an NPC who is played by Ben Affleck.

Nicholas Cage or bust.
I'd like to see the Obsidian logo in the cover

I haven't played that many Obsidian games.
Though I thoroughly enjoyed Fallout New Vegas and South Park The Stick of Truth.
That said I did enjoy Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 felt a lot bleaker and had a really dark sense of humour.
Fallout New Vegas is a more interesting setting and story with more fleshed out characters.
However I didn't feel the same sense of dread and dark comedy as I did in Fallout 3.
That said, survival mode was awesome! So that was just enough to tip Fallout New Vegas ahead of Fallout 3 for me.
So please game developers of the world. Bring us Survival Mode
I want survival mode in the next Elder Scrolls.
I want survival mode in the next Fallout
I want survival mode in Farcry! Do Farcry games have survival mode? (Yes I know this has nothing to do with Bethesda)
I want survival mode in Lost Cause (Yes I know this has nothing to do with Bethesda)
I want survival mode in the next Mass Effect. (Yes I know this is Bioware)
I want survival mode in the next Dragon Age game. (Yes I know this is Bioware)
I want survival mode in the next Assassins Creed game (Yes I know it's Ubisoft)
I want survival mode in the next GTA (yes I know it's Rockstar)
Heck real life has survival mode. If real life is trumping video games, it's a sad day indeed.
I am hungry and thirsty for survival mode! As for you, you're probably tired of these bad puns!
Oblivion > Fallout 3
I hate to say this but non-news is all we have right now.
I guess Bethesda doesn't want to say "Hey guys. Fallout 4 is in the works", just in case the project gets cancelled.
Then again Fallout 4 is in the same category as Half Life 3...

Ha, hardly.
On the subject of Bethesda Game Studios or Obsidian as dev, I REALLY hope BGS is doing this. Fallout 3's world and atmosphere was so much better than that of New Vegas.
I knew I wasn't the only one who felt this way!

Stop what you're going now and play KotOR II.
Fallout 3 had a bleaker atmosphere with a darker sense of humour.
Fallout New Vegas had a Wild West vibe to it. It had a better story and characters, but it didn't have the dense bleak atmosphere of Fallout 3.
That said the one aspect that nudges New Vegas ahead of Fallout 3 for me is "Survival Mode". Though I think you gathered that from my earlier post jokingly demanding every game developer put Survival mode in their games. (That was a joke).
I'll get KotOR 2 and find out if it's as good as what Observer Status says it is.
However won't I have to get the first one so that I can understand what's going on in the sequel?

I suppose you could. KotOR II does a pretty good job of explaining what happened in KotOR that you need to know, but KotOR is still worth playing, so you'd may as well. Just be sure to install the unofficial patch for KotOR II if you play it, the quest triggers can be a little stubborn otherwise.

Both are great games, I recommend getting it for PC and getting TSL Restored Content Mod (not sure if I got the name down right) because it brings back a lot of story elements that had to be cut due to time constraints.
A double pack was released a couple of years ago for about $20 and it works on modern computers.
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of both games as well. They're the only two games I play perpetually, constantly picking up where I left off, and modding small changes here and there. I have a ton of mods on each, and some of them literally make them like they're new games. They both have huge, interesting worlds and years of replayability.
Having said that, I give the better world, complete with atmosphere and exploration, to Fallout 3. I still get a kick out the Metro, the Mall and DC ruins...oh, and Behemoths! The Big Guns skill shouldn't have gone away either.
But, New Vegas does give us a far better story and companions, oft cited by most fans. I personally like the side story woven within the DLCs. Its simply magnificent. Although, both games have huge, immersive and fun DLCs, I'll give the edge to New Vegas. Old world Blues and Lonesome Road are just so unique and are absolutely huge in their scope. OWB was our opportunity to interactively participate in a cheesy 50's sci-fi movie. Lonesome Road was pure adrenaline, punch you square in the face combat-heavy fun. Dead Money, once something I dreaded, has emerged in my mind as pure genius and captured my imagination more so than most full AAA-games have.
But the real thing New Vegas added to Fallout was the huge leap forward in the crafting mechanic and its integration with gameplay. As DLCs were released, just about everything you scavenged could find use. The crafting interfaces were simple, but well thought out and pervasive throughout the map. The sheer volume of survival, repair, and ammunition recipes was incredible. The amount of actually useful recipes was just as incredible. It was so good, that when I play FO3, I miss the hell out of not being able to create the things I absolutely rely on in the Mojave. The incredible number of unique guns and weapons was a plus as well.
Both game's best attributes are the things I hope are improved upon (and not eliminated) in FO Next.
Yeah, both games are win for me.
General consensus around BGSF is that FO3 has a better world that is more fun to explore (this is the most important thing to me) and NV has better writing and mechanics. Seems right to me.
Can agree on that.
NV had better story and the gameplay over all was better (though that should hardly be surprising as they literally took the best recepted stuff from FO3, including fan mods and made it into NV), but the atmosphere in FO3 was incomparably superiour. That first playthrough when you stepped out the Vault for the very first time, or when you go explore the destroyed DC for the first time.
Wtf are you ppl talking about ?
Bethesda doesn't know jack **** about dark humor. (or any humor/interesting writing for that matter)
