Beth Blog lit up like a Christmas tree. Most think its FO4. Some however, are hedging their bet for a new IP, Doom 4 and FO4 announcement since its the first time Beth has ever announced, or even held, an E3 press event.

Fallout 3 was shown at E3 2008, that is their only appearance that I recall.

Edit: Ah, conference. Reading comprehension is important  :P  *smacks self on head*

Yeah, a "Press Event" must be a big deal. I guess I just took them for granted; but it seems they are normally reserved for EA / Ubisoft-type super developers (not that I think either of them are "super" or anything)...thus the inevitable hype will spring board into overdrive, building upon the already hungry, hoax exhausted, FO player base.

I'll take a teaser trailer, something, anything at this point

I really really really want to see some pre war stuff..... I mean, pre apocalypse Falloutverse is just as interesting as the apocalyptic stuff too

Reposting this here as well...

Three Dog (Erik Todd Dellums) recently made another Tweet on 21 Mar 2015, semi-confirming FO Next Game:

Erik Todd Dellums @ETDellums
"Just did something that will hopefully make all #ThreeDog fans smile!" #ShareLove
11:02 PM - 21 Mar 2015

Its been two years since his last Tweet on the matter.

Add that bit with the 14 June E3 Press Event.

Story and dialogue that doesn't feel like it was written by a 10 year old
Better character models
An engine that isn't Gamebryo
Lower player and enemy health
Good feeling gunplay
Guns that aren't technically impossible (looking at you, combat shotgun)
Less gates and barriers around the map
Better stat balance, don't make speech so overpowered etc.
If VATS is used again, don't alter the weapon behaviour while using it

This is probably more of a pipe dream, but I would love it if any mutations or cybernetic enhancements you got would actually show up on your character. I would also like to see such additions offer more variety in terms of benefits/penalties. Make it so that turning your character into robo cop, or growing an arm out of his head will offer significant advantages, but will alienate you from the other 'normal' NPCs in the game, maybe even to the point of shooting at you when you approach since you look so horrific.

At the very least I would like the option to pick a ghoul for your starting character, it would offer an interesting perspective if you got to play as a person that was alive when the bombs fell. You wouldn't necessarily know how to operate military grade hardware or stuff like that, but you would know that pots and pans aren't armor pieces. It would be cool if you had dialogue choices that would have your character commenting on how Fallout society gets many mundane things from before the war 'wrong'.

I'd settle for this tbh.

Fallout is ultimately a story about people and society. It's not about you, it's about everyone else. Which is why the hero-worship you get as the LW always felt out of place. It's because of fundamental misunderstandings of Fallout's themes like that, that I believe Bethesda won't ever "get" Fallout in the same kind of vein Black Isle or Obsidian can.

Beyond the physical environments, Bethesda have shown they don't really understand the setting. I can sperg out and elaborate on this further but I don't particularly mind that they don't understand it. They're a different development team with different ideas. So it's alright, so long as they keep their Fallout universe separate from the West Coast.
