They should bring the Enclave back! Best faction in FO universe. The FO2 type of Enclave, not the crappy FO3 version. And make it so that you could join them.

What were the Enclave like in Fallout 1 and 2?

Also what were those games like.

I haven't played them?

The Enclave wasn't in FO1.

In FO2 they were genocidal militarists without the 'we will rule the natives' piece of COL Autumn.

In an amusing way, they identified more as 'pure human' genetic purists than as 'American.' They viewed everyone else in the wasteland as mutants who, if peaceful coexistence was attempted, would eventually lead to the loss of the human race through inter-breeding and war and such. Humanity would end because Humanity was being defined as genetic purity. Wastelander humans were considered mutants as much as anything else.

Their goal was basically Eden's water purifier idea, only global. They were attempting to create an airborne FEV strain that would kill everyone who wasn't pure Human- which meant pretty much everyone and everything not themselves or in a vault. The only reason they were acting in the wasteland was to get Vault dwellers to test on and to get more FEV. Basically, this is their evil summary of their evil.

Honestly, COL Autumn's intent for coexistence through domination of the purifier was more interesting to me. Shame we couldn't pursue it. As it is, the Enclave in FO2 was pretty much a bunch of assholes with an even bigger super-mutant in powerarmor named Frank Horrigan killing prisoners because why not?

Genocidal, cartoonishly evil n@zi-like dickheads who hate mutants. Seems like the perfect faction for an evil character run. Too bad there was no option to join' em. After FO2 and FO 3 they're pretty much extinct, unless you count the Remnants from NV. It would actually be quite cool if the Enclave somehow returned in FO 4. A Neo-Enclave, maybe?

I hope there is an option like in NV to just take over and nuke both sides like in Lonesome Road DLC.

Why would a Fallout 2 Enclave allow muties to join? I'd rather have this New Enclave chase a vision of restoring America while allowing the Wasteland natives to join as pioneers.

If possible bring back Cass, Rose Of Sharon Cassidy, since I really enjoyed her character or someone similiar.

Fallout has a huge, huge advantage over Elder Scrolls.

Think about it this way.

Elder Scrolls Arena covered most of Tamriel and parts of Summerset Isles.

Elder Scrolls Online covered most of Tamriel and parts of Summerset Isles.

The other games parts of Tamriel

Daggerfall

Redguard

Morrowind

Oblivion

Skyrim

and some others.

What is left on Nirn? There are a few islands along with the Akavir, Atmora and a few other places.

Elder Scrolls will exhaust all possible places since let's face it, Nirn is small.

Assuming Fallout sticks to The United States of America, they have 50 states to explore. I'd argue that The USA is much, much larger than all of Nirn.

However this advantage is even larger once you take into account the rest of Earth's landmasses.

Even if Fallout released a game every month, it would take centuries to cover all of Earth.

Only way I can imagine that working would be if you were born into the Enclave in Fallout 4, but had the option to leave them during the course of the game. If they just let outsiders join, they wouldn't be the Enclave.

I thought about a British or Japanese fallout.

Consider Japan was in middle ground between (semi-)traditional state of 30s-40s and super-Modern state of today (at least in its largest cities) in 60s original Fallout catastrophe. But there they need lots of VAs with Japanese accent of English.

And... London is a really good potential for fallout.

I assume you mean Frank Horrigan? He was a tough as nails super soldier who could kill a deathclaw with one punch. Why not keep him around as an enforcer? Especially since he had low intelligence and was further brainwashed to be loyal. Besides, it's not like the rest of the Enclave liked him very much. I'm sure once they had achieved their goals he would be deemed to have outlived his usefulness and then terminated.

Sometimes I think it's part of a big conspiracy that you rely on my carelessness about writing the last comment of pages!

And to add something to this comment...

Neo-... factions are good Ideas. Like a Neo-Enclave or whatever. It's interesting to see they change their ideas and behaviors toward moderation or extremity or change them essentially.

"Muties" being outsiders and non-Enclave-born humans. Frank Horrigan was probably a genetically enhanced supersoldier born inside the Enclave. If there is going to be a Neo-Enclave organization (which is unlikely to begin with), I'd think that they would change their ways, perhaps akin to the relatively reasonable East Coast Enclave but less *******-ish.

The most likely scenario is that the East Coast Brotherhood will emerge as a wasteland superpower and eventually reach the West Coast.

And, depending on how you played NV, the Vegas sector of the brotherhood would be willing to join them

Changes and improvements I would like to see:

1. More variations of the Pip-boy.

2. Complete overhaul of VATS.  (controversial im sure, however I think the whole freeze time thing has to go)

3. Better balance. By the late game overpowered is an understatement (perks, equipment, enemies)

4. Improved enemy AI

5. Deathclaws and Giant Radscorpions not being everywhere, destroying everything and everyone, when you hit level 20.

6. Inclusion and improvements to Hardcore mode. New Vegas while good was still far to easy. If you don't want it to hard then the option to play without it is still there.

7. Better NPC animations and character creator.  Hopefully they will use a whole new engine and not a rehash of Skyrims.

8. Lots of random events.  I mean LOTS!! When your playing these games potentially for hundreds of hours you need lots of variety in the world. New and interesting stuff should appear even when you think you can't possibly see anything else.

9. Form you own group/faction.  Personally I think it be cool to create a base where you can have your own group of raiders, or lawmen.

10. More control over you companions and their tactics.

11. A third person mode that is playable

12. Actual recognition for your actions and deeds in the world.

13. Actual changes to the world in the post game based on your actions (Broken Steel as a DLC added some things, but more tangible effects would be great)

14. Less actual weapons (like everyone having an assault rifle) and more strapped together gear and improvised devices.

I know this mod is from Skyrim, but is this what you have in mind? Please note it's early days.

Join the East Coast Brotherhood? Somehow, I doubt that. There's a huge schism in their ideologies. The reason why the NV chapter is dying is because it clings to the old Brotherhood ideals while the East chapter prospers for doing the opposite. I think the NV chapter would probably dissolve by the time the East chapter reaches the West.

But the NV branch, at least by them teaming up with the NCR and keep the Elder, kind of changes their ways towards that.

Whether they continue as a separate entity or dissolve into the NCR is another matter.

Whaaaat?! You haven't played them? You mean you're one of those filthy mudbloods people who found and played Fallout 3, never having heard of the first two?

You don't deserve to have made this thread! Buy them! Buy them now! xO

It was actually like that for me, too; I picked up Fallout 3 and played through it first. I have the first two now, though, when GOG had them for free, along with Tactics. I just picked up New Vegas, so I'm set.

Well, you don't have Brotherhood of Steel, but I don't either, and Brotherhood of Steel and Tactics both sucked anyway.

I used to watch my dad play Fallout 1 and 2 when I was a little kid. This would have been '99 or '00 since we moved house in '01, and I only remember watching at my old house.

Ahhhh, I still remember the first time I saw

1) An FO3 approach to your character's backstory - my character shouldn't know more about the situation or the area than I do. Role-playing the Lone Wanderer felt natural because I was discovering everything in the Wasteland at the same time that my character was. The Courier, by contrast, seems pretty savvy and ought to know *something* about the New Vegas factions, yet you get dialogue choices that make it sound as if you've never heard of any of them.

2) An FONV approach to factional reputation, with the reputation points shaping how different characters respond to you. A bad karma faction shouldn't be out for your blood just because you have good karma - instead you should have to come into direct conflict with them somehow.

3) A "neutral" setting for most human characters, such that you don't know their intentions and whether they might attack you, offer their help, give you a sidequest, or just say hello until you actually approach them or talk to them. Having a little red marker tip me off that someone is hostile when I haven't spoken to them and they may not have even seen me doesn't feel realistic. Once in a while, someone will turn hostile after you talk to them, but not very often, and it never goes the other way.

4) Similarly, there should be more variation in animal hostility within species, instead of, for example. all Yao Guai being hostile.

5) Telling your companion to be cautious instead of aggressive should mean that they don't shoot until you do - in FONV, some of them seemed to turn aggressive once I was in "caution" status, even if the enemy hadn't seen me and I was trying to hide.

Basically this - What I'm looking forward to most about Fallout 4, is when Obsidian makes a much better version.

Hmm I liked the basic idea of FO3s story far more then what NV had to offer. The idea of trying to purify a body of water, so the inhabitants of the DC are could try to make a life for themselves was in my opinion one of the most original story's I have seen used in a game.

Let them make a FO4 and then Obsidian will make a huge stand-alone expansion later.

I'm sure Obsidian isn't very skilful in making heavy graphic and gameplay from scratch. (I've probably said this for 1000th time)
