The agony people who have to collect all achievements/trophies would have would be kinda funny.  They'd have to chose one compulsion to not kill the cute things in the game and not platinum, or slaughter them all and hear their horrible cries but get a platinum

The trouble with not having quests to kill the "cute" things only is where to draw the line, imo. People keep pet tarantulas, so no harvesting spider fangs for poison traps, then? Wolves are pretty awesome, though maybe not "cute" in the traditional sense. Then again, Thedas probably gets cold at night and they'd make for some comfortable boots.

 

Personally, if there's XP and/or gold to be had, I'm slaughtering all the things. But yeah, I've got no problem with not having "kill and skin x number of y species" type quests mandatory, even if I'm going to enter the Orlesian ball channeling Montgomery Burns: "See, my vest, see my vest, made from real gorilla chest".

 

Oh, and for those saying we should just buy any needed fox furs from a merchant:

And after reading through this thread i started to wish, that the developers would turn these fox-things into the most ferocious, agressive beings, like the killer-bunny in knights of the cocnut.

I want a branching quest option where I can choose to skin the person that asks us to kill them and make an equitable item from their skin instead.   

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the cone of cold again.

I would like the option to kill and skin the foxes AND do that to people anyways... especially if that person is Cullen. That alone would legitimize every cent I've spent on this game.

I don't particularly like the thought of other people killing them either.

 

And I like crafting also, which is why I said I would be conflicted if killing the fox-like creatures was necessary for some items.

Hmm, well, if they attack me, they're fair game.

I wouldn't go out of my way to kill them, though. But if something else kills them, and their pelt is a crafting ingredient, yeah, I'll skin it.
