Or a bag of irresistible doggie treats to divert their attention! :D

Steaks!  We need humanely slaughtered steaks for the lovely doggies.

Maybe they'll like us?  If we give them a regular supply of steak, I mean.  Which I totally would.  Because then they could be my mighty canine Keep Guards; they could keep rats out of the pantries; this is known,  Or patrol they could my lands and keep them free of ... whatever I don't want in my lands.  Red Templars?  Dragons?

And then I could develop a Mod for a spell like Polymorph, only instead of a sheep, it turns my enemy into a steak.

Dragon Age: Happy Puppy Farm, coming soon to a PC near you.

Anyone who would kill such adorable creatures doesn't deserve to live, much less play video games, so there.

My eternal headcanon is that Revan had a pet gizka trained to maul enemies on command. Thus shall I headcanon my Inquisitor having an attack-fennec. This is my design.

And you know once they escaped the ship, they dealt with the Rakatan armies so we only had those few left. :P

I understand where you are coming from OP. I have an issue with this sort of things in video games (especially those that make it unessesarily cruel) and tend to avoid those sorts of quests when possible, at worst I try to rationalize it in my head (survival, appropriate for the times, etc). Based on the previous Dragon Age games, the markets seem to have just about everything you need, but considering they are trying out new things with inquisition, who knows. I am hoping we won't have to rely on crafting, and purchasing armor and arms is just as passable to get by.

I worry about accidently killing one of these things. I've had to reload enough times in DA:O and DA2 from getting unintentional friendly fire with my companions. I don't need to start panicking every time I use an area of affect ability in the wild that one of the cute wittle furballs will run into it. It's happened to me before in video games and it breaks me. My roommate consistently makes fun of me for it whenever she sees it.

They are just digital and often times fictional animals.

That would be the only thing guaranteed to have me spare Anders in a DA2 playthrough.

I probably won't be killing foxes , deers , young drakes (I've killed tons of them in DAO/DA2 but they look adorable now!) nugs etc...as long as the wildlife isn't agressive I leave them alone.

In Skyrim , I remember building a house and I needed goat horns to have wall sconces and chandeliers.I didn't want to kill some, so I went to merchants and looted dead goats when I found some on my journeys.

It took a long time but I got proper lightning in my DB's home .

I hope in DAI , it's going to be possible to buy some material .

The drakes are soooo cute this time around.

And not killing any goats...? Roleplaying dedication.

It's worse when you consider that wildlife doesn't respawn in Inquisition, you can hunt an areas wildlife to extinction.

I also installed mods into Oblivion and Skyrim for peaceful Mudcrabs because I think they are just darling.

I thought you could hunt to a temporary "extinction," and then it would take a long time for the area to recover. Is that not the case? I can't imagine them programming permanent wildlife desolation just because you were overzealous that one time...

Does anybody else feel a little unsettled when topics like this coexist with topics in which people explicitly state they have noooo problem killing (sentient) such-and-such a character?
(To the OP: That's not directed at you, or at anybody, really. I don't want to kill the cuddlyfuzzies either, without a good reason, but I apply that same logic to NPCs as well. Some people...do not.)

(If the above statement raises your hackles because "I'm taking this too seriously" or something, then just assume I'm being facetious and ignore me. I'm not trying to start THAT kind of derailment  :) )

I really don't want to. Please don't make someone ask for their skins for a quest.

And please don't make their fur a necessary component in crafting. I love crafting, but I also love cute animals. The anguish would probably tear me apart.

It would be by far the most difficult moral dilemma that Bioware has ever put in front of me.

How about buck skin   buck skin clothing would be more usefull then fox fur right?

As soon as a trainer comes out I'll be skinning dragons, at level 1.

Everything in games is digital and fictional. If I refused to participate in the illusion it would be a boring experience indeed.

Everything i've heard so far has suggested that it's a permanent extinction of the wildlife in that area. I could be wrong, I did read somewhere that DIFFERENT wildlife could move in, so maybe you killed the natural predator of an animal so now it can thrive in that area or something. *shrug*

So yeah, no forcing us to kill harmless animals, though if it is to kill something like wolves, bears and anything else dangerous then fair enough, more than happy to burn their faces off with fire magic.

Unfortunately, wolves, bears etc. are usually endangered species killed to near extinction or even complete extinction while "pretty", "fluffy" etc. animals are running around multiplying without control since their predators have been murdered by humans... and then other wildlife suffers etc.

It will be interesting to see how this works out in DAI.

Scarf, stola, hat, gloves... what shall it be? first come first serve!

This is request soooo fu***** absurd. Like: Demons? I kill'em! Dragons? i kill'em! Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Mages, Warriors, rogues?  I kill'em ALL! But these tiny fox things i kuddle.

Since when it's okay to slay humans in games but not animals?

Cut it out! it's a game! NOT REAL!

The only hole in your argument is that those Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Mages, Warriors and Rogues are actively trying to murder you. So unless the fox tries to attack you then it's not comparable. I assume you wouldn't blow up a child that was just standing there out of the way doing nothing. You say all this as if people need to lighten up...says the person using caps and exclamation marks everywhere.

Other than that, yes, it's a game. claireyoudeserveacookie.jpg

so, if those fox things try killing me, is it okay then?  And still, the one thing is an IMAGINARY animal and the other are IMAGINARY intelligent beings with feelings...  but hey, it all comes down to they wanna kill ya. Great argument buddy... really great.

If you don't wanna kill them, then don't kill'em but stop whining fior pixels and polygones. So stupid.

The ultimate requirement for necromancy adv class is to sacrifice a kitten. Let's see who's evil enough to do it.
