It was far and away the single best piece of game-themed merchandise I've ever seen!
By the time I got back to checking... it was already sold-out.

I felt the same way you did. I would check the product page (every day if possible), because it's possible someone will cancel a pre-order. I checked for a week or two after it sold out, and eventually a couple jackets in Medium came back in stock. Assuming they don't do a full re-stock or re-release, this is your safest bet.

You can add me to this list. No single character in history do I have more personal stock in then my Shepard. Being my chosen casual outfit, how often he's seen in it, and the all the emotional scenes here wears it in. This would be my single dream article of clothing. I would have bought it in the first place if they had my size (3xl broad shoulder fit). Of course that's too specific to expect, but larger sizes in general should suffice.
Yeah, I thought it was unfortunate that the jacket was limited to 600 pieces. I'm sure that Bioware didn't want a bunch of these jackets sitting around in a warehouse (since I'm sure they're not cheap to buy from whatever company makes them), but I feel for the people who didn't get these while they lasted. Hell, I didn't get one the first time around; I just kept checking the site and a couple in size M popped up. Who knows, maybe they'll release either a non-limited version, or a faux leather one.
Yeah, I signed-up to be "notified when the item is back in stock". But not holding my breath. Unless BioWare commits to another production run, probably won't happen.

They don't pop up on eBay from time to time as they are NOT the official jacket, the ones on eBay are cheap and most likely of poor quality, apparently with leather jackets any leather jacket that costs under $300 is unlikely to be of good quality.
I had a horse a couple of years ago, we bought a saddle for him for £125 from Ballinsloe (Ireland) fair. The saddle started to fall apart within months. We ended up buying a second hand saddle for about £250, it was 10 years old but was made by a reputable Irish saddle maker. Despite being 10 years old it was in excellent condition.
It's highly likely it's the same with the leather jackets, the official one will last years, the unofficial ones won't
I got one. Ill say its amazing quality. No loose threading or any other mishaps with quality. Leather is really soft and fine. Two edged sword as this does mean its light and comfortable but also means it can't withstand much punishment and has to taken care of allot more than say my $1.2k bomber jacket. If I could I would upload an image or two. The quality of the knockoffs doesn't even come close to this one.
I have seen some on amazon using the official images of the jacket but I'm unsure of the authenticity as they are selling for around $700.
