The one from the concept art, with the two blades, braided hair, and tattoos. Do you think she got cut in favor of another character? So far all the ones that appeared in the concept art have appeared in the trailer except for her. If she was cut, are you as bummed as I am? I was really intrigued to have a female elf companion that's a bit more badass instead of cutesy.

How is Cassandra "cutesy". That's the last thing I'd call her. Is it the hearts? lol

That elf was concept art for DA2, not DAI.

It seems like that was just a variation of concept art for Sera. She might've had blonde hair or black hair at some point, but it looks like she was the same character.

Who?

This gal.  She shows up in DA 2 concept art and then again in DA: I concept art.  If I'm not mistaken, she might have been associated with the Exalted March DLC for DA 2, which is why she also showed up DA: I.  She is either an early Sera concept art or she is a different character altogether who just didn't make the cut.

Interesting that this group shows what I'm assuming is Hawke, a female elf rogue, a grey warden, and giant qunari warrior.  In DA: I we have:  a female elf rogue, a grey warden, and giant qunari warrior.  I wonder if these three were characters that got continued over into DA: I when the Exalted March DLC got scrapped and are now Sera, The Bearded Warden, and Iron Bull?

There was another one with her walking along side the Inquisitor with Iron Bull as well. I'd agree with the place holder for Sera but, they had art for her as well. Though that probably came after the fact.

Well, the concept art is from the Dev diaries from before DA2's release, I've never heard them connected to the Exalted March Expansion before.

I know the elf girl showed up on some DA:I concept as well, but it is not uncommon to reuse character designs for scenic concept art, it saves time from having to design a whole new character.

This, she's ultimately a place holder character the concept artists are fond of using. I suppose it's because she's just not generic looking.

If I'm not mistaken, the art for that Warden is now being used in Heroes of Dragon Age as "Stroud".

It sounds like a lot of ideas were floating around for what to do next after Origins, and eventually although they decided on Dragon Age: Exile (renamed to DA2) a few characters might've been recycled into Inquisition.

Actually it was "Exodus" if I remember correctly.

Maybe Stroud was gonna play a part in the DA2 expansion :P

Eh, this is the third time I heard this and I really don't know where some people are getting this idea from. Bioware is the one who released and showed the image people are mentioning during the gamescom dev dairy last year and inanother video with other concept arts.

I screenshoted this myself with my cellphone after rewatching the video about a month ago, there was also an elf that looked roughly like the one from DA2 video in another early concept of the inquisitor in the fade that they showed in WOT.

As others have mentioned I think they were concepts that eventually became Sera after being significantly changed over time, or it's another character that's been scrapped completely.

That is random concept art to show the new artstyle. They eventually used the Male Human design for the default Hawke but that was after the fact.

Like someone has already said, probably just a placeholder.

Which is unfortunate, she looks badass.
