I thought I heard early on that multiplayer was being considered.  Is it showing up in any form?  Even if I couldn't be part of another person's story I would love to visit their Thedas and meet their inquisitor.  It'd also be cool to play as them.  Am I just dreaming?

We've heard nothing about it, although I find it interesting that some of the surveys they're giving to possible playtesters have asked about multiplayer experience in ME3 and other games.

E3 would be the best place to announce it, though, so I'd keep my eyes open until then.

If they haven't figured it out yet, then I cast my vote for PvP sex scenes.

Choose your opponent and race to the finish line!

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about this.

That news story came at a point when they hadn't even confirmed DAI was using Frostbite 3, so... it might be quite accurate, really.

I really hope there is a multiplayer component, so long as I can use it offline with bots.  I really do not enjoy interacting with pre-pubescent boys who chew doritos in their microphones and have their parents screaming over who forgot to flush the toilet in the background.

Preferably, I would enjoy multiplayer that allowed you to play as NPCs and monsters that you couldn't normally play as in singleplayer.  For example, a class-based objective based game-type with different factions such as darkspawns, demons, templars, dwarves, etc.  Each of them would have unique classes, such as genlock, hurlock, shrieker, ogre for example.

I'm dreaming, I'm sure of it.  However the original leak about multiplayer did say you could control a dragon, so who knows.

It seems that the way the story is panning out it could be something similar to how Multiplayer was handled in ME3, with Agents of the Inquisition going off to capture or hold certain war locations.

While my first response to multiplayer is "DEAR SWEET MAKER NO!!!!!" - as long as it doesn't have any affect on the single player game like Mass Effect did - then it could be fun for people who want to try it....although like Shape said above...if they have it have a bot / offline mode and / or LAN mode. The increasing number of games that have now lost their multiplaye functionality forever is getting high and honestly sucks.

I can still play C&C and Doom and Quake from the 90's with relative ease in multiplayer - but games that have come out in the last 10 years I can't. That's regressive action people.

Yeah man ME's multiplayer pissed me right off because you HAD to partake in it if you wanted a chance at the "best" ending. Ugh. What a pile of poo-poo.

I tried to give it a shot once, and my stupid code (that came with the game) wasn't accepted.

I'm guessing it'd depend on the combat system, since we're using swords, daggers, bows, and magic it wouldn't really work well if the combat system is too clunky.. I personally would prefer there not being a multiplayer.

I hope there is, I enjoyed the crap out of the ME3 multi, and its not like it took that much away from the teams to actually do it, so I'm all for it.

ME3 multi-player was good, EA servers that multi-player was housed in were terrible.

Unless they mean to get better servers don't do multi-player. If you have to rely on EA servers, don't do multi-player...

Like I said I enjoyed ME3 multi, I didn't enjoy being DC'd 3,4, sometime 5 games out of 8 and losing consumables in the process...

This is exactly why I had very limited ME3 MP under my belt. If the Lag didn't get me.....the disconnect on Wave 10 would. So much time for zero reward.

...and this is why games should have a LAN mode AND offline bots mode.

Sank 1000+ hours into ME3 Multiplayer. Encountered maybe 1 pre-pubescent boy, zero dorito munchers, didn't hear a single toilet flush and didn't encounter any raging parents in the background (the latter I am slightly disappointed about, actually). I absolutely despise Origin but that's another story - at least it got me into public games as opposed to games with friends so I could reliably verify the above information.

Oh, and I'm a 42 year old female, so keep those MP clichés coming!  ;)

If MP is not required for the best result in the single player campaign, I am all for it. BioWare really pleasantly surprised me with ME3 MP and that MP community is fantastic - no reason why DAI should be any different.

Gonna have to say my ME3MP experience mirrors yours, and my hours are spread across (mainly) PS3 and (marginally) PC and XBox 360.

Which is why I don't freak out like many others do when - Heaven forbid - the thought of MP gets brought up for DA. I adored ME3's version. I still play it over 2 years later now.

(And 29-year-old female here, so yay for bucking the trend! *sis-fist* :) )

My experience of multiplayer also was a good one... When I didn't get DC'd 3,4 or 5 times in a row.
Multiplayer game was good. The servers were terrible.

What is it with multiplayer? Why is it constantly asked for - even in games which were originally single-player?

If you wanna play a rpg with player-groups online, just take any MMO - there are enough out there.

And in two of three cases either SP or MP lacks when dvelopers try to include both.

I mean, look at ME3... that MP was basically horde-mode with a bunch of maps. Got booring just after a few hours and i can't understand, how anyone was able to put  200 hours and more in it. If a MP is so halfass, then just cut it and concentrate on SP to the fullest.

I completed ME2 8 or 9 times and i didn' miss MP the least.

so basically other players play as enemies that would be annoying. think what will happen if your defeated over and over again by a player preventing you from moving forward in the game .

I am 100% sure there is multiplayer. For me it is a confirmed information. Too bad majority of the people never cared for it but yet we will get it in some form. Yet other features that are "hotly requested" are way back in the pecking order without real chance of appearing.

I'm down with MP as long as I enjoy it, if I don't I'll avoid it, see how simple that was. I will say that the MP for ME3 was fun and the community was one of the better MP communities out there in my personal experience for being team players and not being vile pricks, so far so good for Bioware MP.
