We got Adamant Fortress (in the demo and in the recent trailer) and Ostagar too? The similar place was shown in the trailer. Several similarities are,

  1. The bridge
  2. The mountains and the valley
  3. Cold enviroment
  4. Ostagar-ish ruins

The bridge is in too good of shape to be Ostagar.

I would guess it's the Temple of Sacred Ashes rather than Orzammar. There are what appear to be religious statues, ruins, and a similar environment that was in DAO's temple.

Could be Ostagar. It is a redesigned game after all. We can't say for sure until the game is out. Though I can't imagine what the Inquisitor would be investigating in Ostagar. Ancient Tevinter Imperium artifacts?

The Dalish could have repaired it, since they gain ownership of Ostagar, along with the Hinterlands, if the ruler of Ferelden granted them their own land as a boon to the Dalish Hero of Ferelden. Otherwise, it may have been the Inquisition, since the developers said we can repair some areas for our own purposes.

It could be Ostagar , with the valley underneath the bridge...but I'm not sure.

There's no Tower of Ishal , and the bridge was leading to the main building.

Why? It served no purpose other than a chokepoint for the Blight. It was in disrepair before the Battle of Ostagar.

The Dalish don't always get it. And repairs aren't that quick.

May be another side of Ostagar? Not the side with The Tower of Ishal.

I don't know .^^

It could be Ostagar , Redcliff doesn't look like DAO Redcliff for example.

Possible the tower got destroyed.

I'd say this is more of the Temple area where the Urn of Scared Ashes is/was keep.

We never did get the chance to explore what is beyond the Kocari Wilds, that unchartered terrority.

Ostagar is kind of the back end of nowhere if there aren't Darkspawn invading through it.  I'm not sure why we'd go there.

But I can certainly see the resemblance you're talking about

First time I saw it I thought it might be a redesigned Ostagar, as well.

It could be a different part of Ostagar from what we saw in Origins(at least, coming up to it from a different angle), and it is almost certainly going to go through a redesign to take into account a new engine, more advanced graphics, and the capabilities of new consoles.

As for why we'd be going there? Any number of reasons. Without knowing more about the plot, it's impossible to say. That being said, here's a thought; the veil is naturally thin in areas of mass death, and few places have seen such mass death in this age. I could think of a dozen ways that could factor into the plot of Inquisition.

If Ostagar is in DAI, then I hope the Dalish boon takes effect. Because that's Dalish territory now (and all the Hinterlands).

Going back to Ostagar for a 3rd time seems overdone, even if it's with a new PC.

The statues on the bridge look like holy figures whereas in origins the were warriors. Also the areas in the back looks like coliseums to me. Theres also no walls or anything that indicates that this is a fortress. So im calling it, its not Ostagar.

During the battle with Gaxgang he does mention the signal at the tower of Ishael.  I always wondered what that meant.  Perhaps an Eluvian is there.

Could the statue on the far right be an Avvar warrior?
