Sent my suit to the cleaners

Got my playthroughs that I want from DAO and DA2 that I want to transfer into DAI

Got the fridge stocked with soda and food. I might add beer. Not sure yet.

Stretching my fingers to get them ready for all the button pushing.

Made sure my lady friend(if she isn't retired by then) get time off to watch me play.

Cancel all social engagements with friends and family.

Removed the doorbell so I won't be bothered while playing.

If I can think of more I will add them. For now, I'm content that I will be prepared for the release of DAI

I deleted all of my DA saves and decided to start again from the very beginning, and I intend to finally get a hold of some of these books to soak in more of the lore and events.

Yea I would read the books first before you start over TRUST ME, the books will help you to make informed decisions. Read at least asunder, the masked empire and the calling (imo). Reading those three books will help with a lot of major decisions in both DAO and DA2, plus the DLCs for both games.

I keep putting down on a piece of paper several world states in preparation for the Keep.

Don't know what else to do. No intent or time to start new playthroughs of the first two games as I've played them countless times.

Yeah, but it's still nice to get a feel for the story again/reaffirm all the decisions you want to make in the keep.

I'm going through my massive backlog of games before it's too late! Between a million DAI playthroughs, Dreamfall Chapters, Pillars of Eternity and The Witcher 3, I'm not going to have time for any other games for quite a while once October hits.

On one hand, I do like having more context when it comes to the turning points of a story or how I weigh in on my decisions, but for these games, such a thing can be problematic. The Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor may not be privy to the information we get from the books, unless it's something that we can assume would be something that character learned in a history book in Thedas. Beyond that, I prefer these characters' decisions to be guided by what they actually observe in the story, not necessarily something I've read. Reading the books and comics and whatever would simply be for my own benefit so I can broaden my perspective on the DAverse, but I wouldn't really use it to affect the outcomes I make for the games.

By spending way too much of my free time on these forums.

I also got Masked Empire - my first DA book. Read the first few pages. Seems alright. Makes me think I've read better fanfiction, but I will definitely give it a chance since it seems to have gotten great reviews here.

Well, since the Keep was announced, I don't have to play the other two games anymore :(

So I cleared my hard drive and bought a PC gamepad so I can choose between mouse and keyboard or controller gameplay.

By purchasing a Play Station 4 so I don't get bungled up with DRM issues like I did with previous games on PC.

Well, I haven't started yet, but this thread makes me think I'm going to freeze a few casseroles and lay in some canned food and supplies so I don't have to leave the house for about a fortnight.  The 6:2:1 Rule will be in effect.  (hours sleep:meals:shower per day)  Just like a Con!

I've already made sure I won't have a contract for the middle two weeks in October.  It'd be a shame to loose a precious hour or two of game time by having to go grocery shopping.

yea they said as of right now its very unlikely they we will be able too, so if you have crappy internet and cant get internet on your console your SOL and have to go with preset history and that's if they provide preset history this time.  :crying:

I have to go back and read each and every codex page available to read in DA:O/A and DA:II along the new playthroughs so that I really understand about the elves and the dwarves. I always play human noble only, might try a new origin this time or replay human noble again and make questionable choices to leave the world in a chaotic state for Inquisition.

Or they could get the "Keep" working soon enough and we can play around with choices and customized imports there, that's got me more excited to be honest.
