It's supposed to be condescending. This thread has gotten way too serious for it's own good. I want to bring it back to something casual. What happened to fun and banter among fellow fans? Wtf.

Lol. If you want it to be casual, why are you telling people off for playing games wrong?
I never said you were playing it wrong, did I? If I did sound like that, then I didn't mean to. I speak for myself. I refuse to get too pissed off about the game. Sure, sometimes things hit a raw nerve with real world issues, but I also view it like acting or writing a character. I step outside of myself a bit.
Get off your high horse....
You're just jealous of my awesome horse.

taken off the blindfold yet?

The Chantry are terrorists too
Lets just end it like that.

I didn't present an argument at all. I was just telling you to stop your pathetic attempts at rethoric.
Take it up with Hinata Hyuga, who started it by equating Chantry sisters with the citizens of dictatorships. I was only working within her parameters.
Or, you know, take it up with BioWare, who draw very transparently from themes of fascism and dictatorship in their depictino of various organisations, including the precious Chantry.
Oh, but wait, I forgot. It's only a "fallacy" when the opposition uses it. Silly me.
They basically are citizens, just because they're part of the Chantry doesn't mean they are part of a "problem"
Ah yes "dictatorship"
Yes it's all caused by the Chantry. she says this “Magic is a curse, and I pray every day for forgiveness from the Maker.”
Ad when you play as a mage and just as you're about to undergo the Harrowing Knight-Commander Greagoir quotes this:
"Magic exists to serve man, and never to rule over him. Thus spoke the prophet Andraste as she cast down the Tevinter Imperium, ruled by mages who had brought the world to the edge of ruin. Your magic is a gift, but it's also a curse, for demons of the dream realm - the Fade - are drawn to you, and seek to use you as a gateway into this world."
Templars and priests likes the remind you, as a mage, that you were born with a curse.
True. They were heavy with the propaganda. Not everyone agreed with the message. Does the Chantry have to change? Yes it does. Justina V agreed they needed to change and was working with Wynne. She did say it would take time and she could not do it herself. Wynne also stated that Justina V believed it was the Templars that set-up the crazy blood mage attempt to kill Justina. Therefore, It was also a dangerous position for Justina to take.
In Act 3, we were seeing people express concern over the power the Templars were taking. They were losing popular opinion. Anders trashed all the gains others were achieving to make mages look better. Sad but true.
He only got many of them killed. If you rival him 100%, he helps you kill them and they make all the mages tranquil.
I believe Wynne's son deserves credit for the movement to break away. He was at lease sane.
The Chantry are terrorists too
Lets just end it like that.
No, not really

From where I am sitting it seems more like a Giraffe. because you know, Giraffe's taller.
That wasn't an argument, An argument would be to convince you that you are sitting on a high horse (metaphorically of course) It was more of a statement, A demeaning one at that .
No, not really
Yes really.

Brilliantly and eloquently put, you have convinced me.

If we have to get technical it was an imperative....

In any case, the only thing that's interesting to me about Anders is whether he deserves to die or one should continue trying to help cure/fix him and Justice. I guess he thinks he should die and considers it hopeless.. that they're too entertwined. I wonder if it's true.
The issue of the Chantry is another issue. And I don't think he did anything to solve it. I'd rather turn my attention back on his own problem.
They basically are citizens, just because they're part of the Chantry doesn't mean they are part of a "problem"

They're members of an international, militaristic organisation.
Of course, their army has since bailed, but that doesn't change the fact that their purpose is literally to control the entire world through dogma. I mean, it's right there in the Chant of Light that "every corner" of the world has to sing the song of the Maker or some-such nonsense. That's why they allied themselves with the biggest empire on the continent, and periodically call Exalted Marches to crush the non-believers.
The thing with the mages is really just a side-project for when the Chantry gets bored with slaughtering normies.
But I'm sure you have iron-clad rationalisations for all their terrible behaviour.
he was too far gone to bother with for me... it's like dude, ya f***ed up bad.... and when ya f*** up bad, you die

um i think you are referring more to the qunari in your statement than the chantry... yes the goal is to spread the chant of light through the world, but their goal is not through militaristic action... the only sort of military they had is for going against mages, not all of thedas
If we have to get technical it was an imperative....
After a little Google search, I have concluded that High Schools, well mine anyway, suck.

I thought magic was their chief concern. "Magic must serve man and not be ruled....." Isn't that their biggest tenet? Their whole religion revolves around magic. Rather than simply being a side project.

Who goes to high school to learn anyway?

Mhmmm, what normies are they slaughtering currently, pray tell?

EVERYONE!

Well I did, or so I thought I did, I must be HIGH or something.

implying I agree with everything the Chantry does
but go ahead with acting aggressive towards everyone

it certainly would make this thread much more bearable
