I despise the Qunari, but I'm not going to fault them for behaving in the exact same way the Chantry does. I don't feel sorry for bullies when they get beaten up by newer, stronger bullies.

This I'll agree with.

Although it seems to me that Qunari have an "answer" for every aspect of life. Which is far scarier and controlling than anything the Chantry has drummed up. They've mostly limited their "role" giving to mages. Which is already problematic on it's own.

The Imperial Chantry basically wanted to allow mages to take part in the government again, which of course p*ssed of the White Divine.

I wish the Black Dine would turn the white Divine into a fat toad.

Well from what I hear, Justinia's gonna be going up in flames soon. Do remember though, without her, the rebellion wouldn't have made it out of the White Spire alive.

Indeed. They wanted to promote cooperation instead of violence, but thanks to Adrian (**** *****), we are now stuck with a big ass mess on our hands.

Old people never want change. They don't ever actually take the time to analyse who is affected or how.

If people are willing to kill moderates like Elthina and Justinia, then there's no hope. If people can't even deal with the more open minded elements, then the only alternative is attempting to annihilate the Chantry completely. In which case, you can look forward to hundreds of years of war, if you're lucky. Or extinction.

Lol, young people aren't the ones that made Thedas what it is, and if you're getting real-world bitter, they aren't responsible for ****** up the environment or the economy either.

Elthina and Justinia aren't moderates, they have a vested interest in maintaining Chantry control.

The Chantry is not a neutral party, it is the responsible party. If anything, Mages and Templars should be allied against it for what it has done to both of them.

Anders is a couple cans short of a six-pack.

He feels he's right in killing a hundred people to save one mage

If you don't agree with anything he has to say, no matter what it is, he fthinks you're against him. Its his way or the highway.

He didn't need Justice/Vengenence. He still  would've blown up the chantry without the spirit

They are moderates relative to the rest of the Chantry. They're a starting point. Justinia is, at least. Elthina is a waffler, like Duncan. Tries to be inoffensive as possible. Moderate might not be the best word, but I'll call it that simply because she can be engaged from different sides.

edit: Elthina "was" a waffler, rather.

What age would you consider old to say that? Will your comment apply to you when you get that age?

And yet, without Justinia, you would have no rebellion left. The majority of mage leaders were stuck in the White Spire with no way to get out. So without the Divine, there would be nothing. So yeah, she's a moderate.

Really? Justinia wanted change for the Mages and Elthina wanted peace between the groups at Kirkwall (while she did a terrible job at by wanting them to solve the issue themselves)

And atm yes the Chantry is a neutral party

Heck, it even sounds like Justinia is the one who's calling up the peace summit to discuss cooperation.

This whole thing made me wonder. Since we got crusades Exalted Marches, popes Divines.

Are Anti-Divine's also possible in Thedas?

You mean like the Grand Schism kind of "Anti-Pope"?

Yeah, that'd be the Black Divine...who I believe is also the Archon at this time.

No, Justinia was willing to extend limited freedoms to the Circle of Magi, because the alternative was them slipping out from under the Chantry's thumb completely.

And yes, Elthina was terrible. She didn't do or suggest anything to fix the deteriorating situation, she just sat on her hands and whined about how hard it was. If she appears "moderate", it's only due to her own laziness.

And who says being "moderate" is automatically the right path in this situation, anyway? That's a golden mean fallacy.
