I pay 100 dollars to have Anders come back and be a companion

In any case, the only thing that's interesting to me about Anders is whether he deserves to die or one should continue trying to help cure/fix him and Justice. I guess he thinks he should die and considers it hopeless.. that they're too entertwined. I wonder if it's true.

The issue of the Chantry is another issue. And I don't think he did anything to solve it. I'd rather turn my attention back on his own problem.

Was it Marethari, who said that the soul cannot be cured from possession and will be left as a prey to be further inhabited? I know she was talking about demons, but I wonder if it applies to spiritual possessions in general. Can a spirit desert its host and leave it vulnerable to demonic possession? There aren't many witnesses to un-possessed people.

P.S. Catching up.

@Mockingword: I don't remember exactly how that event went in Asunder, but Evangeline had reasons to suspect Rhys. Mages were murderered in the WS, Rhys was just being questioned, it was past the hours were mages were allowed to be outside their room, and Rhys was outside. I'm not saying it's okay to knock down a person (though I don't recall how the event went), but she has reason to suspect him.

Right, but what's worse is that Regalyan apparently totally digs it, and makes a filrty quip when they're rolling around on the grass. And then afterwards, it's heavily implied that they will start a relationship, and the film is just totally okay with this.

And what's worse than that, is that based on her behaviour in DA2, and now in the DA:I trailer, she still hasn't learned her lesson, and continues to stab first and ask questions never. She was pretty much unbearable in Dawn of the Seeker, and I'm not super stoked about having her in my party (as a romance option no less), when she pulls the exact same shtick on the protagonist.

And what's worse than that is that, in Asunder, basically the exact same thing happens between Rhys and Evangeline, only she does worse to him when she has less of a reason to be suspicious. And he still has no qualms about getting into a relationship with her.

The overall vibe that I'm getting is that irrational violence makes men creepy, but makes women "strong and independent", even when those women are already in positions of power over those men. Positions that they could easily abuse.

If the gender roles were reversed in these situations, people would see them for what they are. Hell, all Cullen did was admit to having a crush on a mage, and half the forum was ready to lynch him before he so much as laid a finger on her.

Like I said, I don't think it's cool, but I don't have all of these thoughts about it either. My mom was actually this way. It might've instilled a certain respect for aggressive women.. but I also like to be left alone a lot. That's my main issue with it. Aggressive people tend to like dragging others into things. It's not just about physical contact.. but a bossiness in general.

But I digress! That probably has nothing to do with the game.

Well, I don't think being more vulnerable to future demon possession is grounds for killing someone.

Yes, but that's the fan thread. It's not going to present a balanced view of the debate surrounding his character.

Lots of people (like me!) think Cullen is a creeper, it's just that there are no threads devoted to hating him. It pretty much only comes up in the context of the mage/templar debates.

Huh? I don't ... think she said that? In fact, I don't remember such dialogue in the games.

I absolutely do think that, if a male templar were to knock out a female mage and lock her away in a dungeon for days without food, it would be frowned on later if they got into a relationship. To me, the gender is a lot of why people are alright with the situation. Maybe not for everyone, but I think it's true for a lot.

Cullen never did anything remotely aggressive towards the female warden, though. He was just a big weenie. lol

It always boggles my mind of how much ****,dlc's and other minor contents people are willing to pay for but if people are that excited for a single companion well enjoy it and try to make it worth 100$.

I actually finally decided to buy Ragnarok Odyssey Ace today, because I saw there was DLC for a bunny ear headband.  B)

sadly ive only seen maybe 10 others that share the same opinion compared to the 500 that adore him...  plus every time some one makes an anti cullen thread bioware immediately takes it down

majority favors cullen

She says that in Merril's personal quest, I believe it's A3 quest. You'd have to hit "Investigate" option during quest-giving dialogue.

Edit: It's A3's - "A new path."

Well, I don't know. Depends on the chance I suppose. But even the Dalish, who are led by the Keepers and very prone to magic, kill the possessed ones, considering it a hopeless cause. Besides, do we really know of un-possessed persons?

Maybe because there are some people that keep insulting those that do indeed find him interesting. <_<

Connor and Pharamond, possessed by demons of desire and pride, respectively. I don't think they are necessarily in any more danger than the regular mage.

I wasn't keen on the idea of Cullen at first, but I started to think how he's been fairly helpless in previous games.. so it kind of interests me how he's finally come into his own. If at all.

I never played a female mage, so never saw his scenes about that firsthand.

the ones i start dont insult those who find him interesting, its intended to be what we dislike about cullen's character, not hate the people who adore him

and have some not done that in this thread?

I don't have any strong opinions about Cullen, I guess. I'm not really a fan, but he's far from my least favorite person in the DA world.
