No, people argue that she deserved to die because she did nothing.

that's asinine

It is, but it's not stopping them from saying to defend Anders or mages in-general

That still means the "she did nothing" arguments are blatantly false. She wasn't making things better, but she was stopping them from getting a lot worse.

You're right my only point of contention is that last part. I'd say she slowed things down rather than stopped them, but I've been known to get hung up on minor details so don't mind me

Anders' actions look like terrorism, but I think the motive is just due to Justice's inability to cope with the material world. He's a creature of the fade. His natural state is to will things into being. In this world, he wants the same thing... except everything requires process and work. Not "instant will". He can't truly grasp this kind of existence. He doesn't belong here. His mentality is "Now, now, now!!! Me, me, me!". And he ends up dragging Anders down in this impatience.

I do think he recognizes a valid injustice. He's just too stupid to know how to enforce anything good here. He's worse than an infant. Or maybe, exactly like an infant. In the womb, a baby is able to tap into sustenance on will. Once in the outside world, all they can do is cry.

....you got it all in so many wrong ways ! for the first part ,it have nothing to do with him being illegal or apostate or anything at all regarding him . he did it because he witness the violence acts and abuses on the mages by the templars everyday more and more ,templars who should have been the law ,instead they used their power like that alric to condam innocent mages like that girl into tranquility so they could use them in the so many ways they want , if this is not terrorism itself .

and yeah your right ,he did had no business inteferring in the circle affairs, do you guess who's business was ? the grand cleric . what did she do regarding this business ? nothing . keeping an eye over all this transgration of law by the law itself , and bieng above the commander of the law itself , she kept silent. silence over the days ,over the years , trying nonetheless to reach for her and speak sense to her , but even her couldnt do anything to help those people .

i think this is the part you didnt get.

after that Anders was not claimed as a 'terrorist' yet when he was still trying to speak to the grand cleric ,when he was still writing his manifesto ,when he was still helping people in the undercity for free.

that part too you forgot. now try to rethink about what i say above if you want .

There isn't much more to think about. You've made it perfectly clear that you condone, and even support, Anders' actions. Ergo, you condone the actions of a terrorist.

And for all your posturing and (bad) rethoric, there was a grand total of TWO Templars who straight up broke the law, regarding the way they treated Mages. TWO. Not exactly the den of corruption you attempt so fervently to portray the Templar garrison as...

You support Anders, and that is all fine and dandy. But let us call a spade a spade here...

Eh, it was a bit more than two but it's still wrong to porttray the entire Templars as such

Anders got lucky by only being stabbed. I wanted to nail him to a wall and then stone him to death. He's nothing but a piece of garbage.

The only reason I keep him alive in some of my playthroughs is the hope that there is a more fitting punishment if he cameos in Inquisition.

I think if people really cared about Anders, they'd focus on curing him or something. Relieving him of this suffering. Possibly killing him, just like Anders' killed Karl.

Encouraging him isn't exactly being a friend.

Two named. The faceless army of mooks doesn't count. Just like the army of faceless blood mages doesn't count. besides, as is indicated by the Templar's Letter, many of the mooks were coerced into following their superiors' orders. So all we got are Keras and Alrik.

The most fitting punishment for him is not having him at all in DAI and something in the codex that says he died in the most horrific way possible.

Anders is by definition a terrorist, it may be harsh but it's true.

You cannot at all say the same about the holocaust and the current Mage oppression.

Anders was not in a war, what he did was an act of terrorism. See above.

I can.

terrorist (plural terrorists)

  1. A person, group, or organization that uses violent action, or the threat of violent action, to further political goals; frequently in an attempt to coerce either a more powerful opponent, (such as a citizen or group targeting a government), or conversely, a weaker opponent, (such as a government, or even an internal citizen or group, being targeted by a larger government).

That definition sounds a lot like the Chantry and the Templar's now does it?

I agree to an extent, yes. However, that doesn't take away from Anders being one.

It says right there in my signature that I'm pro-mage, so, you're barking up the wrong tree with that one.

Problem is the people caught in between these forces of opposing stupidity, who might have reached some form of compromise or reform if the option for negotiations hadn't been taken away.
