Where was this stated?

Please show me the codex that says The Chantry is seeking world domination.

Also, you can chill with the dramatic emphasis.

It's right there. The Chantry interferes with local to national politics. What does that tell you?

That's hilarious. I was in a gang in my teens (not initiated... I just rolled with them a lot).

I assure you, it was nothing like hanging out with nuns. How can I put this? Almost all of my friends are dead from that group. One is serving 60 years. I got out of it because, in fact, I found my spiritual side and chilled out. That saved my life really. To equate the two is strange.

So I guess Catholicism and the Jevhovah is about world domination, right?

No, police and street gangs aren't the same thing. The stated goal of the police is to maintain order, while the goal of street gangs is to dominate a territory through violence.

The Chantry falls much closer to the latter category.

Funny I only seems to see the Chantry only use Violence from the Exalted Marches, which seems to look like a reaction than trying to dominate territory

Kirkwall is the exception, not the rule. In Ferelden for example the Chantry has no say in the Landsmeet.

But because something means something for you, doesn't mean that it doesn't mean something else for this next person here.

Do you not know what world domination is?

If the entire known world follows the Chantry, then that means the Chantry dominates the world, and it makes the Divine the most powerful person in the known world.

In fact, the Chantry already dominates the known world. There are only a few hold-outs, and their power base is extremely small by comparison, even if by some miracle they all joined forces.

I see people trying to use Kirkwall as an example of the norm for the Chantry and Templars

smh

LOL.

You think anybody can just move to another country whenever the **** they want?

It's an extremely lengthy and expensive process, and that's not even counting the physical effort involved in actually hauling your ass to another country. And before we had immigration laws, we didn't have planes, so people had to ****** walk, and carry all their possessions on their back.

What kind of sheltered bubble do you live in, that you think that immigration is easy, even in this day and age?

Did I say it was easy to leave a country? No. I said it was possible to leave a country.

You're wasting time trying to explain logic to some of these people.

No, don't be dumb.

How many times do I have to explain that being born with a trait you can't help is not at all on the same moral plane as willingly choosing to join a violent organisation?

So your saying a soldier who joins the military to protect his country or provide for his family is automatically a corrupt murderous psychopath?

And that an army nurse is the same as a soldier just because they both serve in the military?

But they'll immediately say Kirkwall is not the norm when involving mages. :P

Lol, yes, and an exalted march on Orzammar would've been a totally acceptable response to the death of one Chantry Brother.

That's not a flimsy excuse for invading and slaughtering another nation at all.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT

And who decides what constitutes "abuse"? Why, the Chantry does. Funny how that works.

No, police and street gangs aren't the same thing. The stated goal of the police is to maintain order, while the goal of street gangs is to dominate a territory through violence.

The Chantry falls much closer to the latter category.

The circle has some say in the matter,as do the seekers and various political figures outside the chantry.

Not really no. The chantry's ability to influence politics varies wildly depending on the kingdom or nation involved. And for all their exhalted marches the organization doesn't have much sovereign territory of it's own, they have some political influence but if Logaihn and Empress Celene are any indication their authority is far from absolute.

Corrupt? Opinions. Murderous? Yes. Psychopath? That's a medical condition.

Nurse = Soldier, yes.

Lmao you being condescending is hardly going to get anyone to buy this bs.

Spreading the "word of the maker" is not world domination. But you must be one of those people that think Christianity/Catholicism is trying for world domination, right? I mean you must with that mentality.

I really don't care what it means to you or anyone else. I only have my own experience with both gangs and religion. If you have some more pleasant experiences of "thug life", that's cool. I'm much safer and relaxed among religious people (although, personally, I don't hang out with anyone.. if I had a choice though, I'll take the nuns :P ).
