Because then like Anders an entire religion will be build around him, causing thousands of people to follow his views. If this happens, I see a lot of exploding Chantry buildings in the future.
Hmm. Excellent point. But doesn't Anders say something in DAII that if you kill him his name will inspire mages? Either way, burning or stabbing him makes him a martyr. I kept him alive in one play through so he won't become a martyr.

And I want to have a gay brothel with poledancing hot menz who perfom impromptu high-production musical numbers. I would pay 1000 dollars for that.
Thank the Maker DA:I is not crowdfunded! ![]()

I hate Anders. The last time I saw a character **** up everything was when I was writing a drunk text.

I like how Flemeth and Cassandra don't make much of Anders in their observations.
That's a good sign of how the world will probably view him, no matter what choice you make. Destiny falls on Hawke's head in the end.

On a serious note, Anders' story is the most complete story of all DAII companions. There is absolutely no reason for bringing him back, other than a pure fanservice. His purpose as a character was fulfilled with the Chantry's blow, there is nothing that would surpass this event in his life, and therefore his arc could only go downhill from there.
And you don't think the return of Cullen (For the third time now) isn't due to fanservice? Cullen has achieved nothing in the Dragon Age series other than to be a chronic whiner, and someone that I just want to walk up to and punch him in the face for being who he is.

Exactly because Cullen hasn't "achieved anything" so far in the story, is the reason they can bring him back for more. Cullen's story arc has not even begun yet, but his background is now firmly established. Anders' story arc began in DA:A and ended in DA2. Even if a lot of players disliked Anders, doesnøt mean that his storyline wasn't well fleshed out and perfectly executed. If Anders ever show up again, everything he does will always be overshadowed by, or be revolving around his actions in DA2.

If were going to go down that route then we might as well bring back the entire cast of companions that was in DA2. Their story arc hasn't been completed yet, especially Merrill and the Eluvian that my Hawke help to construct. Whatever happen to it in the first place? What came about the giant size mirror? Cullen just stood around in the gallows looking all pretty to the ladies. He did nothing that deserves to be in the next game. In fact if anyone that deserves to be brought back it would be someone like Carver Hawke.

Well, you'll probably have to deal with him a pretty decent bit then since he's almost certainly an adviser you can't replace in the Inquisition.

Although it wouldn't be the first time, I find it wrong to build a future story arc, based on if's. Merrill could have constructed eluvian and then her story have a potential for growth, or she could have destroyed it, and then her story is basically a recovery and her arc is complete. The summit of Fenris' story was the confrontation with his master, and if you helped him to kill Danarius, then his arc is complete. If you sold him back, then his story have a potential for growth, but basically it will be a new story, because he won't be Fenris any longer. Isabela - well, her arc was complete with the Qunari relic, other than that she's just hanged around. Nothing she's done after, overshadowed her actions with the Tome of Koslun. She's kind of mini-Anders in that sense.
Carver's story is again based on if's, and many if's, including the class of your PC.
So, basically my point is - Anders' and Isabela's stories are defined with the grand actions you couldn't change, and complete, while Fenris', Merrill's, Carver's and Bethany's stories are too vague to bring them back. You'd have to write two or more entirely different stories for one character to fit your PC's previous choices.
And Cullen's story wasn't even told, he was just a witness.

Merrill might come back in the future, yes. Her story arc is also left largely open for future installments. But evidently BioWare didn't feel like involving her in this installment of the franchise. Anders on the other hand, does not have much more soup to be brewed on him as a character. To put it bluntly: He is spent as a character.

ive managed to have 5 posts deleted relating to my hatred for cullen, and they were the nice and relative to the topic posts.... so yeah i think the developers are secretly sleeping with cullen on this one....
As for anders.... if they bring him back to his original character in awakening, then yes.... but to make the story fit right, they wouldnt and i wouldnt want him back even if i had to give up my life to do it

Technically speaking Cullen is returning for the second time. He didn't "return" in Origns, he was just there.

I'd shell out $100 to hang his body over the Skyhold entrance as a warning, a trophy and as a decorative piece.
Deluxe Edition bonus item plz.
But seriously, this isn't relevant to me as I killed him in DA2. But I imagine he'd have a cameo+ if he's still alive after the events of that game.
Do want to see that happening. ![]()

I thought Cullen belonged in a straight jacket. He went nuts and killed two apprentices in DAO for no reason. In DA2 he doesn't recognize mages as human. I'm wondering if he is going to go psycho on me.

Anders' cameo if he was not killed in DA2: We kill the abomination.
...and mount his head on a spike.
