I can't wait for the reunion of Anders and Murder Knife.

Anders: Why don't you just....kill me.

Qunari Inquisitor (Templar Specilization): You don't fear death, you welcome it. You're punishment must be more severe.

Anders: ....Torture...?

QI: Yes....but not of your body, but of your soul

Anders: Where am I?

QI: Home, where I learned the truth about despair, as will you. There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has rotted here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked sailors turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as I terrorize Rebel Mages, I will feed them and the Apostates hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe they can survive so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to "stay in the sun." You can watch me torture an entire people (Gesturing to a mystic mirror) and when you have truly understood the depth of your failure, we will fulfill the Inquisiton's Mandate... We will destroy the Rebellions and then, when it is done and Mage dream of Freedom from the Circle is ashes, then you have my permission to die.

PS: Any chance we can get Tom Hardy to voice the Male Qunari Inquisitor?

Yeah, I'm all for freedom from the circle for Mages and the dissolution of the Templars, but Anders is a terrorist. I wouldn't make him into a messiah figure.

So was Andraste if you go by Chantry accounts of her.

I like Anders and all and love the Dragon Age franchise as a whole, but I wouldn't pay that much for a whole game let alone a single companion.

No offense Bioware.

Anders come back and be a companion? Well Anders had his own agenda and so did Tallis. Would an Inquisitor focused on closing the growing tear want to deal with their personal agenda? I wouldn't want to have either one as a companion.

If the player let him leave, i don't see a problem with a cameo appearance.

Don't recall Andraste blowing up buildings filled with innocent people.

He is confirmed to not being a companion. And what, you want him to cheat on Hawke with your Inquisitor?

i dunno ,personally i couldnt have resisted having him with me and not romance him ...its just about urges ,but ..if its confirmed then its just all too bad . big deception as i really liked him as a partner ...and i don't think my inquisitor will find another guy like Anders , at least am happy hawke found the real deal *sigh*

Isn't the one at a time causing him to have a slower, more painful death even more cruel. I was offering him a kindness.

No, two at a time

They've always maintained that Zevran showing up if he had been killed was a glitch.

Ultimately I feel that Anders should return in imports where he survived DA2, providing his inclusion in DAI would make sense; something that I think is very possible, given that he's largely(but not solely) responsible for the state of the world in DAI.

But he should never be a companion again.

A patch would have fix that glitch as I found it jarring. Though Zev died in one of my DA:O saves,  is was a very early save I used. But as far as Anders, that was even more jarring, because one of my imports with Awakening involved had him dying at VG, yet he's one of the most important companions in the DA2 story.

At least Anders addresses that with Nathaniel in DA2.

I killed Anders in my canon playthrough so no: I would not pay $100 to have my choice made for nothing. I think he should be an NPC if he's alive, and still dead if he's...well, dead.

Anders' death was addressed, though I don't think that jives with Anders' act one plot, in regards to the circumstances of him leaving the Wardens and what not.

To me, the bigger issue wasn't what if you kill Anders, but what if you hand Anders over to the templars instead of recruiting him in the first place?

This is true. I've done that in a playthrough too. I guess Anders escapes (again) or is recruited by the Grey Wardens and allowed to leave the Circle. However this means that, entirely coincidentally, he also was given a cat named Ser-Pounce-Alot by a friend and still chose to leave the Wardens.

I wouldn't know that, as I only played DAA twice and Nathaniel was never in the end of Awakening.  So, if the writer had this addressed with some dialogue between Nat and Anders in DA2, they still retconned him adding some script to explain this. For those who never played Awakening, Anders is simply a newcomer. For those who played DAA and he died in it, it is retconning without explanation. The better script would have happened at the out-set of finishing Anders' acquisition quest in DA2 where in the ensuing convo with him at  his clinic, he could have expounded a bit on how he really didn't die.  Leliana was also retconned into DA2 in the Exiled Prince DLC, since I killed during the UoSA quest.

And he met and became friends with Justice. This all pushes the timeline to really tight levels.

Not to mention, a lot of his early dialogue as well as a good bit of his party banter relates to his adventures with the Warden Commander.

That is at least very plausible, since it is unknown what happens to him if your PC turns him over to the Templars.

Unless I am conflating some aspect here, I think you are talking about DAA with Anders dying? If so, I didn't think Anders could be killed, only that he can die if he didn't have enough upgrades in DAA. I don't know, it has been a long time since I played DAA, maybe I am missing/forgetting something. As far as handing him over, I think his existence is more plausible in DA2 and works better from that aspect, than does him dying in DAA and carrying over a save from it into DA2.

True. Like how he was telling Varric about his trip to Black Marsh.

I hope Bioware tries to avoid this in the future. Other than Cullen and Leliana, none of the Inquisitor's allies have needed much retconing so I hope that characters we are responsible for dying in Inquisition won't magically come back to life in "DA4".

Agreed. I didn't like Anders in Awakening and let the Templars have him. I didn't appreciate him reminiscing about events he couldn't have experienced.
