So guys, I've been lurking on these boards for a while but I now decided to ask your opinion on one thing. It probably has been asked gazillion of times already but, as I am getting increasingly excited about this upcoming game, I decided I want to build my "perfect" canon on which to base most of my DA:I playthroughs.

I pretty much decided I will do the following:

- in DA:O, save both Isolde and Connor, side with the Mages, with Bhelen, save the Anvil, lift the Curse on the werewolves, get Alistair and Anora marry and rule jointly, recruit Loghain, go through the Dark Ritual;
- in DA:A, save Amaranthine and spare the Architect;
- in DA][, side with the Mages and let your sibling live but not join the Wardens.

I also want to play a male mage Hawke in DA][. So far I only played a male warrior and a female rogue in that game, and I think that a mage fits overall better in the story (the whole Malcolm's legacy, the friendship with Anders and the rebellion, and so on).

My problem is which class to choose in DA:O. For sure, my Warden will be a human male. What I'm unsure about, is whether he'll be a warrior (champion/reaver/guardian) or a mage (arcane warrior/blood mage/battlemage): both of these I have already played, (through Awakening only with a mage). I'll list the reasons for each:

- Warrior:
i) I feel that a warrior and his specializations fit the Grey Wardens' lore much better; also in terms of the best gear available in game that's connected to Grey Wardens: think about the Warden Commander's Armor and the Sentinel's armor!!!
ii) the Human Noble origin story is better connected to the overall plot, although I do not like the background of a privileged person like a Cousland (and I'm not particularly fond of the origin story);
iii) in Awakening, a warrior fits the role (RP-wise) of Warden-Commander of the Keep much better;
iv) my Hero of Ferelden would be a normal person, not a guy who's grown up in a gilded cage full of psychopats which he never left and never met his family;
v) maybe not in Origins, but in Awakening a sword&shield warrior allows for a more balanced party composition, considering that I'll do the Blackmarsh last.

- Mage:
i) Amell link!!! It would be cool for my warden to be linked to my Hawke, especially since both would be mages! Although, who knows how much of it will be acknowledged in DA:I;
ii) the mage origin is absolutely my favorite, for the whole good-student-turns-rebel thing (I reflect myself a lot in it), although as I said it is not a likely story for a charismatic leader who would become a commander and a hero;
iii) it's cooler to have a mage do the Dark Ritual, give birth to the OGB and follow Morrigan through the Eluvian;
iv) arcane warrior is badass, although I do not like it lore-wise unless one plays an elf (and I find massive armors inappropriate for mages anyhow);
v) with a mage I would have a more balanced party composition in Origins, less so in Awakening.

I really can't decide! Also, I would like to play different classes in the three games, like warrior (DA:O), mage (DA:][); rogue (DA:I) but after I saw the Flames of the Inquisition armor and armored mount... man, I want to play warrior in DA:I!!!

Perfect is impossible but I am going through it like this.
DA:O-Saves Connor & Isolde,Uplifts curse,Sided with Bhelen & destroyed the Anvil,Made Alistair king,Alistair executes Loghain,& I do Dark Ritual.
DA:A-Save Amaranthine & kill Architect.
WH-Go with Morrigan
DA2-Side with mages & sibling joins the Wardens.

Details-I just play my Cousland Warrior like a late blooming Batman/Green Arrow that becomes serious about the Wardens after a while in DA:O.
My Mage Hawke is aggressive & uses Blood Magic.He isn't noble but is a hero regardless.
DA:I-I know I'm being a rogue with daggers that is complete noble & heroic on Superman's level.
That's my soon to be play through.
It your call.I would sleep on it till it just hits you.That's what I did.

Trust me Da:2 plays more "fuildly" as a mage hating templars, mages in da2 are nuts.

By all means give it a go but by "perfect" it appears your run is "save everyone" in Da2 being a mage is almost a bad guy role, unless you plan to betray your own people.

Thanks for the replies, although it is not clear whether according to you I should play mage or warrior in DA:O.

Yes, in DA:O I would "save everyone", because on one hand this is all what DA:O is about, on the other hand this would let me meet most people in DA:I if they will show up (I'm thinking about Branka).

I agree that instead one should role-play DA][ in a different way. I do not see a Mage Hawke as necessarily evil, but I see him in deep conflict with part of Kirkwall's society (for right or wrong reasons).

I have a large variance of save imports. I'm going to recreate my main ones. Maybe five or six. At least one for each Origin.

I don't think you will get a satisying answer to "what makes most sense to be" there are various reasons why either works.

I would at minimum have two major "imports" (they likely won't be real imports except through Keep from what I gather).  One with "full paragon" (it's usually pretty obvious in DA:O and DA:A which is the "good" solution for the major quests) and one with "Full Renegade."  Then in DA:2, do the same - and switch classes so you have two different siblings, etc.  That way you get at least most of the more obvious variations in DA:I.  There are obviously a ton of options, but unless you want to just play Keep over and over (and frankly I probably will haha), it's probably better just to make the most dramatically different ones you can.

I'm still trying to figure out how I want to play one of each race in DA:I with one of each voice actor.  The only one I know for sure is Dalish male mage... probably American accent. And he'll go on my full paragon playthrough (although I just couldn't for the life of me get my Female Hawke Rogue to side with Anders over Sebastian, so... Murder Knife) along with the Elven mage Warden.

I think I will do the same, use the Keep to create two dramatically different imports (say one "Good" and one "Evil", or one "Lawful" and one "Chaotic") in order to have the best possible variation of "states of the world" for different playthroughs in DA:I.

However, I also want to play a proper "canon" that fits the lore of the world and the stories best. I like mages and the Amell link, I dislike full nobles, but I see Couslands and warriors as better Grey Wardens and Heroes of Ferelden lore-wise and story-wise. Much will depend on how DA:I will look like, and what will be the best "fit" in terms of class, race and so on.

Mine's mostly the same as OP except I destroy the anvil and whether I let my sibling join the Wardens depends on which sibling it is. Carver joins Wardens, Bethany goes to the Circle.
