Any word on if the shape shifter spec is back?

Only Knight Enchanter confirmed so far.

 

I'll admit I don't understand why we can have 6 specializations in Origins and only 3 in Inquisition.If no shapeshifter in Inquisition-I can always play Origins again.

The reason is because the specs have become much more integrated. Not only will each spec have much more to it than any in DA:o or DA:2. but from what has been said, people will recognize the spec you pick and respond to it (i.e. warriors that go Templar may be met warily by mages)

 

On a side note, as of right now ShapeShifting is not  a spec for DA:I . Mages get Knight Enchanter, Necromancer, and Rift Mage.

What is a rift mage?  Is that the same thing as a blood mage?

I hope Shape-shifting is deep and expanded. Mages need to feel like they are magical.

They haven't said yet. Knight Enchanter is similar to Arcane Warrior from DA:O, and i assume Necromancy is taking the "evil Mage" from Blood Mage spec, but they haven't said anything about what a rift mage is yet.

Okay, cool cool.  Well, maybe there will be shapeshifting spells within some of the other specs.  For example, maybe the necromancer can take on some sort of undead brute form or something.  Not going to hold my breath though.  Is it confirmed there are only 3 specs for class?

So far. Maybe they add some later through DLC or something, but for now its just 3 each. Warriors have Templar Reaver and Champion, and Rogues have Artificer Assassin and Tempest.
