lol .. lots of superstars mentioned here. Let's take all these opinions with a grain of salt, these are truly the best of the best players .. and we may be splitting hairs as to who is better.

 

Loufi, you mentioned one of those big 4 not proving themselves soloing. if you are referring to TMB903, I don't think that ever interested him, just as online (or 'epeen') recognition didn't interest him. I assure you, anyone who has played with him knows that if he did care about that stuff, he would probably be the holder of several records in that regard.

 

About a year ago Limbs invited me to a Plat lobby with Saeed .. we ran 4 games I think .. he was extremely impressive. I've also played with Knockingbr4in in a few matches, to say he was impressive would be an understatement. And i pugged one match with Smoothcriminal on an alt account .. he murdered everything (mind you, I was playing a Juggy at the time, so everything was dead before I could get there).

 

The one thing in common with these players? When i play with them surviivability is meaningless since everything dies so so fast .. so i take the fastest moving kits, just to have a chance to do something.

 

The most impressive single game domination I have ever witnessed is TMB's Drell Vanguard. It is on a different level than anything I have ever witnessed in this game, this includes videos, in person gameplay, etc. (although honourable metion to all the sub 20 Gold and Plat soloers, you guys are ridiculous)

 

Edit - I would also add that I have yet to encounter any PS3 spectre who isn't absolutely top notch, from a few games with Dida, FoP, Eventln, Pint, Finn, Xain, Twinwolf, Wngmv(?), etc (never played with Cato or DragonRacer)

Hmm, can't say I've ever played with them or even heard of them. But I guess that comes with the territory when you don't start playing MP until a year and a half after the game is released. If they're in the same category as freaks like didacus or cato though, then clearly they aren't hurting for skill.

I played with him one time. He was OK, but I didn't notice anything special about him. I am more than "skeptical" about his plat solos he wanted us to "mirin", especially his sub-40 on Rio with the Battlefield.

I ran into you twice a while back, possibly playing with icannotaim - one of the games on Hydra was particularly fun and I remember being impressed enough by your play (Asari Vanguard I think) to look up your profile, though I think it was private at the time.

I've played at one time or another with most of the top players on PS3, though there are a handful of notable exceptions.  I'm a very solid and versatile player, but rarely spectacular.  If there's another BSNer in the lobby I'll most likely be happy coming second   Mind you, if that BSNer happens to be either TMB or cato, I'll be second by some considerable distance.

I never had the chance to play with you, and it's probably for the best you haven't. I'm worst than a pug when I want to be and can make killing a Ravager last over 10 minutes. I'm very unorthodox player, who does a lot of stupid.

What, you left a game to use the washroom? Why not just do what pugs do and just leech and go AFK? That's what I'd do. Give the pugs some of their own medicine.

smoothcriminal is up there. SackedJedi is awesome. Dragon Racer, of course. (when she can be bothered with the PS3 and all of its um shortcomings.) Limbs, wgnvb or however ya spell that .    Max is good too. The last match I played with q5tyhj, he just completely and utterly wrecked the geth on Giant. I'd call that good.

I'd be extremely surprised if he was anything more than merely mediocre. There tends to be an inverse relationship between one's actual competence, and the frequency with which one talks about one's actual competence- of the players who are mentioned here as the best on a particular system (that are BSN'ers), how often do you see them come even remotely close to bragging? For instance, have you ever seen a cato_84 e-peen post?

No, indeed. In the same logic, dida always says that he sucks, and I don't think it's false modesty.

 

There are exceptions, however. A guy like Disciple was far from being modest... but he was good.

Me too.  He blurred around Reactor against Reapers when I was new to Gold and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.  Just insane.  I wouldn't play that kit for the longest time, and even now I feel like a fraud or imposter who's only capable of using it at around 30%.

 

I played with him a while back when he was finishing up a Plat runthrough of Deus Ex, a game which is tougher on Easy than most games are on Hardcore.  And as has been noted, as with the other top players, he's very modest and supportive.

Funnily enough I take the opposite approach to Ravagers - I kill them really quickly and then rage-gel, most frequently if I have an itchy Shadow Strike finger.  Now that's stupid!

Yep, dida is as good as cato. I did two plat duos with him and both were easy games. I wanted to record one of his solo in order that more players see him playing but he wasn't very comfortable with the idea, and I understand him (I would not like either knowing that someone is watching me playing while I solo).

Didacus is actually quite shy despite how active he in in the AHF Chats and BSN, this is probably why he was uncomfortable with the ideal. He also, I think doesn't want to be considered a top tier player, despite everyone knowing he is, which is also why he says he sucks. He is probably one of the fastest plat soloers on the PS3. I've learned from him on how to improve my solo times. I unfortunately will never get the chance to play with you, unless circumstances change. 

 

Actually, Dida is better than me, he just won't admit it.

I have only played with you via pugs always on glacier, it seems. You definitely held yourself. I haven't played enough to know judge your skill, but Didacus is definitely up there, even if he thinks he "Sucks" which I think is due to him trying tto compare himself to KB/Smooth. Didacus and me usually goof off when we play, as I'm not a serious gamer. I just troll and find new unorthodox builds. 

 

PS3 has four gods; Knockingbr4in, SmoothCriminal, TMB, and Saeed.
Then there are the demigods; Dida, Cato, Xain, Pint, MermaidsTear, mlowe, Mighty_M-dub, rlucht, dan_gerous87, Finn, myself, and maybe a few others that I can't remember at the moment.

It's been a long time since I've actually had to think about it.

Then there's GNC/Troll at the bottom, evnltn who does just plain up random builds. GNC will always be at the bottom.

Credits and extraction are irrelevant to me, fun is all that matters. I have 41M credits just sitting in purgatory. 
I unfortunately will no be able to do any more Plat trolls, like I did with you. My Commando days are over and I must transistion into a Matron, as my PS3 got the dreaded Geth Heretic Virus and decied to only worship the Reapers, AKA YLOD. Probably too many collector games cause my system to overclock it's self.

No there's nothing stuipd with that, Swarmers/Ravagers are like an Ultimate Badass for the N7 Shadow.

Sure. Seems to be a good general rule though. I think that if one is good at something, that skill usually speaks for itself and boasting is totally unnecessary (not to mention bad form). Most of the time, if someone likes to talk about how good they are, that's a pretty good sign that they aren't actually all that good (and this doesn't just apply to video games, I find).

Didacus is actually quite shy.  That's why I thought when I duo'd with him. The fact that, like me, english isn't his first language is maybe an other explanation why he is very active in chats / forums but less talkative orally.  

He is probably one of the fastest plat soloers on the PS3. The fastest, yes. I would have love to see his 30 min plat solo with the volus engineer.

Hyper aggressive playstyles don't impress me, a person who never dies or has a high tolerance of patience should acknowledge too. Every person has their own playstyle and each person creates their own imagine from that. I like analyzing differences and see how different people engage a situation. Your personality and how dedicated you are, are what I judge. 

 

I'm the type of person who's willing to take 10-20 minutes to humiliate a Ravager or Nemesis with Asari Dodge. Insist on everyone bleed out just so I can solo a wave, to prove a point. Or carry the Pizza while equipping the Spitfire, just to challenge myself. It's all about fun for me, time, credits, and extraction don't matter to me in most circumstances.  

 

Most people never see me play my true potential as I only bring it out when required, like in solos, or clutching a pug match. I would rather have pugs hate me, than assume I'm willing to allow them to leech off me, due to my N7 and CP, If can prove a point. My 1st game with FOP and Limbs resulted in me having to solo 4 waves with a melee AVS with a Batarian Gauntlet on plat. I thought I was going to be carried by them, but instead I carried them. I originally didn't care about doing plat solos, but then I made it my goal to solo plat with all Asari kits, before doing any other kit.

I wasn't trying to come out as bragging, I was just listing a experience where I had to adapt and change tactics, due to how the match progressed. I've done games where I was plain awful and you had to adjust to deal with my poor performance. If I knew that was Pearl's 1st plat game I probably would have used a different kit. As you said that happened a long time ago, everyone has changed.
