Who here has completed every Gold and Silver challenge at least once? Who's planning on doing it?

I decided I might as well finish off the remaining challenges before the servers finally go away.

To get the weapon challenges over with as quickly as possible, I've been mostly doing solo Bronze matches; they're easy, don't take too much time, I get all the points for myself, and I don't have to worry about burning too many consumables (unless it's Devices - I hate those). Pugging would have taken forever to rack up the necessary points, especially if the other players were rocking (kill-stealing) Claymores, Harriers, Talons, Javelins, etc.

Since I normally play Gold/Platinum, I haven't used many of these weapons in a long time. While they may not be good at the higher difficulties, they are fine on Bronze (probably Silver).

Comments on recently completed challenges. Items with strike through were completed after the OP.

Weapons

  • Katana - not bad on Bronze
  • Scimitar - not bad on Bronze
  • Eviscerator - Like a three shot Wraith on Bronze.
  • Geth Plasma Shotgun - Never warmed up to this shotgun unlike other forum members
  • Carnifex - I used this gun a lot when the game first came out. Barely touched it once my Paladin and Talon got to the higher levels, so it was good to revisit.
  • Phalanx - Like the Mattock, my fingers are glad I won't have to use this weapon again.
  • Locust - aim for the head, otherwise don't use this gun
  • Shuriken - Not so bad on Bronze, but then again, what isn't?
  • Avenger - Deadly on full auto on Bronze perhaps
  • Striker - no need to ever use this gun again, even on classes that stability and accuracy bonuses
  • Vindicator - Use to play this weapon when I was first starting out. Easier on the fingers than the Mattock, but not as powerful.
  • Mattock - My finger is glad it won't have to use this weapon ever again
  • Argus - Fire rate is too slow for my taste, although the gun does pack a punch
  • Incisor - Used a Turian with their stability bonuses.

Powers

  • Poison Strike Use - had been using Nightshade Blades in place of Poison Strike in my builds, but may incorporate PS in future Gold games. Was fun dashing through enemies.
  • Biotic Slash Use - Up until now, I only had 5000 points from Biotic Slash usage. Now, I know why people spam it over and over in matches. You barely have to do anything but that on Bronze.
  • Seeker Swarm Use - still have to finish this challenge.
  • Electric Slash Use - This ended up being like biotic slash
  • Shadow Strike Use - I liked taking on Dragoons with Shadow Strike

I'm dreading some of the remaining challenges, which are mostly 200 waves challenges, many of which are in the Bloodpack Mastery set:

200 Waves
  • Turian Havoc Waves
  • Turian Engineer Waves
  • Cabal Vanguard Waves
  • Vorcha Soldier Waves - never used Flamer all that much, but oh can it melt armor
  • Batarian Sentinel Waves
  • Krogan Shaman Waves
  • Batarian Slasher Waves
  • Vorcha Hunter Waves
  • Batarian Vanguard Waves
  • Krogan Warlord Waves
  • Male Quarian Infiltrator Waves
  • Drell Vanguard Waves
  • Phoenix Adept Waves
  • Phoenix Vanguard Waves
  • Volus Adept Waves
  • Talon Mercenary Waves

Extractions
  • Phoenix Adept Extractions
  • Phoenix Vanguard Extractions
  • N7 Slayer Extractions
  • N7 Shadow Extractions
  • Krogan Warlord Extractions
  • Talon Mercenary Extractions

Map Mastery
  • Firebase Ghost: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Reactor: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Condor: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Hydra: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Jade: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Goddess: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase Vancouver: Platinum Waves
  • Firebase London: Platinum Waves

td;dr - what remaining challenges do you have left? Any that you're dreading to complete?

I've done all of them except the Predator. What do you wanna know?

I did all mine on Gold. Playing different kits and different weapons makes you a better player.

Incisor? Simple: the answer is GI. It's pretty fun.

I put the Mantis on the TGI so I could pretend to be Archangel.

Nah. I only grinded using the weapons / characters for a few challenges just for the banners even though I'm not gonna get BotB. There's really no point for me to put myself through that tbh.

Lotta diversity in the game but some stuff I just don't like using.

All I have left is three more for Outsider (Volus Adept at 78%, Talon Merc at 90%, and, err, something, I suck with the rest that are left) and to work on Lone Wolf (I only have 3 bronze solos to my name).  Outsider shouldn't be too bad, I just haven't gotten around to it yet, but I'm dreading solo mastery.  I don't really enjoy solos, but I think I'm finally good enough with a few kits to give gold solos a try, so now I'm just waiting to get a few of the ideal consumables to give that a go.  I'm leaning towards my Javelin GT on Ghost.  I just can't decide if I want Geth or Reapers.

Still working on some like "play 200 waves as <insert kit here>" but for the weapons I'd just pick whatever would work. If the weapon was crap, I'd slap it on the turian infiltrator to get it over with(I'm looking at you, Krysae).

I still need Commando Mastery, Outsider Mastery and the stupid N7 Mastery however(and Reckoning too I suppose). Don't wanna do N7 Mastery at all, Commando Mastery will be fine, I just need to actually play an asari one day. Outsider Mastery is starting to feel meh since I'm almost done with the drell for it. Reckoning isn't needed for the BotB banner so I probably won't end up doing it at all.

@Ryuji2 - I left N7 Mastery for the end, and it was a mistake IMO. I would just start promoting now because even with spamming Recruit packs, it's going to take awhile.

If I didn't have so many character waves and extractions left to complete, I would have paired a powerful weapons class with the weapons. Since I only have the Incisor and GPS left, I'll be able to play whatever combos I want now.

@Silvershroud - good luck with the solos. I remember when I first played multiplayer with a Level 1 Human Vanguard on White Cerberus Bronze during the beta. I didn't get out of the landing zone alive. Later on, I soloed Bronze, Silver, Gold, and finally Platinum. It definitely gets easier. I personally like Cerberus over Geth/Reapers. The trooper is really good against Reapers, which all of their armored units.

I don't care about challenge points. I almost never play the same kit twice in a row and often try new weapons and new ways to use them (except the basic, shitty ones). If I gain CP in the process, I guess it's nice, but I don't care.

For the completionist in me, it's just to get all those challenges done at least once. Once the servers go away, we'll have YouTube videos and screenshots to remember the fun we all had with ME3 multiplayer.

It helps to work on two at once - match a 200W kit with a 140K weapon, keep switching each as you complete them, and promote whenever you're at lvl20. The biotic, tech, and faction banners should mostly fall into place by themselves. I thought the alien and weapon banners would take the longest, but now that I have them done, the map mastery and promotion banners seem to be taking just as long, so there's something to be said for attempting them all at gold difficulty. I only have solo, maps, and promotions left to complete. The only one so far I've really had to go out of my way to finish was combat mastery - I had to run a few grab farm solos for that one.

I run it without the flamer, so I don't care so much about the armor.  I'm leaning towards Geth, for the lack of synckills, and the lack of teleporting enemies.  Plus the only thing in the faction that I can't one-shot is the Primes.  But the Reapers larger number of melee units could buy me the few seconds I need to finish devices.

Eviscerator is great on gold if you can aim and use a RoF + Accuracy class (Destroyer, GI, Marksmen Kits)

Electric Slash can be done in one match, as can Shadow Strike. Doing them both in one match is more difficult but possible. I usually only go pity points into ES so it usually takes two matches with my build.

Seeker Swarms good luck.... I hate that power, and never spec into it. That and Biotic Orbs shall remain forever undone in my manifest.

The only challenge I care about at this point is a Platinum solo. I'm sure I'll want to pick up some of the weapons I don't use (Incisor, Indra, Kishock) just to mix it up later on but that's the only thing I care to see lit up on my N7HQ that currently has 0 completions.

I tell myself I want to get all the challenges done at least once

then I look at some of the ones I have left to do and I just say screw it.

I'll probably never solo platinum

I have started chipping away at the Phoenix vanguard 200 waves and discovered I really enjoy playing him

Some of the others like FQE annoy me because I played a ton of waves with her before there was a CP system

Bottom like I do what I think will be fun,

if that coincides with completing challenges I haven't done then great

I've strongly considered that, but my plans are something much greater and more special for my first.  ;)

....yes, I worded it like that on purpose.

After I did my first Platinum solo a year or so ago, I thought I would never do another one again. Then, I watched NightSlasher's videos and did two more. I'm no threat to do Platinum solos with every character and on every map, but it was good to get at least one under my belt.

Best of luck with your Platinum solo, and may you always get circle hacks or pizza runs on your objective waves!

It would have been great had they been collecting that information before they released the CP system.

The last ones I completed were 200 waves of miscellaneous characters, mainly Volus and Vorcha.

No, I have completed all of them. Bad weapons are OK in gold on the best weapons platforms like the GI, and there isn't a kit I really dislike to play.
