Hey everyone :)

I recently completed an Origins playthrough with Human Noble, and had originally said in the Landsmeet to have Alistair as king and my character as queen. However, I did not do the dark ritual with Morrigan and had Alistair sacrifice himself in the Arch Demon fight. However, in the epilogue, as mentioned in the title, he is said to be king.

Importing the save over to Awakenings, I played through with my original character, and after the darkspawn attack on Vigil's Keep, Anora arrived to say her stuff. But isn't Alistair supposed to come as well if he is king? At the end of Awakenings, the epilogue once again mentions the Human Noble heading back to court as Ferelden's queen, ruling alongside King Alistair. But Alistair, as mentioned earlier, did not appear.

I'm curious as to why these bugs appeared, and whether they will transfer over to Dragon Age II and subsequently, Inquisition, when I do so. Has anybody else experienced these problems? Will Alistair visit the court in Kirkwall in DA2 if I use this save? Or is it simply an epilogue bug?

The end game and epilogue slides for any ending other than Alistair alive and on the throne are buggy as heck, though I believe the plot flags carry over correctly. For PC, there are numerous mods that fix the things than need fixin', at least as they happen in DAO/DAA.

Imports to DA2 are crazy bugged no matter what (especially with regard to romance-related flags). There's a save gen tool floating around (again for PC) that can help with that.

And from what I've read, there won't be any direct import of saves to DA:I; it will all be done using the Dragon Age Keep. (Though admittedly I've paid very little attention to information on that game, so I may have that bit wrong.)

So, Zombie-Alistair was king eh?  I think Anora showing up means the game recognized his death (since she only rules if you put her on the throne yourself or rules by default in the event of Alistair's death).  Origins and Awakenings are a minefield of plot flag bugs (especially post Landsmeet) which the modding community has done a lot of fixing for.  If you play on PC I'd recommend getting some.

Unsure what world state you will import, but when doing DA2 character creation, you pick your import. Either one of 3 default imports supplied by DA2's engine, or a game save you created by playing yourself.  When you do make the choice, you can hover over the world state checklist and it will give you some of the more important flags like "Who rules Ferelden", who lived, who died, did Thedas learn about the Ashes etc.  So you can double check if the flags should be firing properly.

And fortunately for Inquisition we will get an engine that will allow us to doctor our world state to (hopefully) eliminate this plot flag inconsistencies.

This. Anora is now queen because Alistair is dead. Check out who shows up in Dragon Age Awakening with an import after killing the Archdemon.
