So yeah thought I would go back and play one or the other and was wondering if anyone had any mods to recommend?

Im not sure if its out yet but there is this one mod called "Skywind". Its basically Morrowind but in the Skyrim engine with Skyrim graphics.

If you'd rather play Morrowind with the Morrowind engine, I recommend better bodies and hi-res textures, at the least, to make the game look a bit better at today's resolutions. If there were things that annoyed you, the Nexus likely has mods to address those things.

For Skyrim I prefer cosmetic mods (textures, improved meshes, SkyUI, iHUD, immersive thunder, etc.) primarily because I actually like the vanilla game-play and don't feel it needs to change. You can almost always find something you want using the Nexus' search tool.

There's a ton of mods for Skyrim. I'm running about 50 or so right now, and I'm not anywhere close to some people on these forums.

It kind of depends on what you want. Most of my mods are graphical or UI enhancements with a few immersion things. I also have one for revamping magic a bit since the damage dealt from magic is quite underwhelming in Skyrim.

For Morrowind, I agree with getting some visual updates to make it look a little bit nicer. Additionally you may find that the combat system is really annoying and want to get a mod for that. In vanilla Morrowind, your weapon attacks are capable of "missing" the target based on your weapon skill even if visually you did actually hit them. It can make the early game rather frustrating at times as your hit chance is very low.

I would take a look at Nexus Mods for both games as far as finding the mods go(They seem to be under maintenance at the moment).

10 mods are more than enough for me. You people are just "Modomaniac"!

I mostly use graphic & visual effects, inventory and music mods thanks to 'Nexus'.

Using an extra campaign or mission shouldn't be called modding IMO. They're just additional content like expansions and DLCs.

It was a test to see just how good looking I could make the game.

The conclusion was that I need a 4k monitor.

*wishful thinking*

I predict it will be better than both Skyrim and Morrowind.

Despites, Oblivion beats them all with all of those hellgates and for the acting of Martin Septim!

For Morrowind all I really want is visual tweaks and graphics enhancers, I remember I had a complete overhaul mod that really enhanced everything but I can't remember what it was.

For Skyrim however I want visual tweaks as well as mods that are just plain good fun to screw around with, things like Midas magic and god powers and stuff like slowing time almost to a halt and watching everything fly through the air in slow motion.

So nobody has any specific mods they can recommend? Ones they personally enjoy?

I laugh at it but I never use the Trolololol mod for Skyrim. If you want over the top, the Nexus has them in spades.

I have useless mods like "Nazeem Forest Friends", "RD", "PS4 Potato", Potatodagger", "Insanity's Umbra"(Not lore friendly), "UNP", etc.

Mosh pit of mods.

if you want DLC-like mods, be sure to check out Falskaar, Helgen reborn, Hyborian age/ Age of Conan (dont remember the exact name), Wyrmstooth and Fight the talmor series from Mad Frenchie. and Path to elsweyr was very nice too. and in summer/autumnt Beyond Skyrim should be finally finished :)

and if you want some other mods, textures, armors, etc.... these are my favourites:

Pure Waters by Laast

Better Shaped Weapons - BSW by LeanWolf and masterofshadows

aMidianBorn Book of Silence by CaBaL- EmeraldReign-the AMB team

Immersive College of Winterhold by Grantyboy050

Point The Way by Arthmoor

Lanterns of Skyrim - All In One by MannyGT

Wearable Lanterns by Chesko

On a serious note, I know of one mod that I couldn't play without called Konahrik's Accoutrements that adds special armor sets to the dragon priest masks so that when you kill one, you get more than a shiny new mask but a whole armor set and then you craft special material based dragon priest sets after you get Konahrik.

Just cosmetic mods here too for Skyrim. I've got Morrowind but not played it much (always hard to go backwards and get in to older games, unfortunately). Skywind is looking pretty damned awesome from the videos I've seen though.

A lot of the cosmetic mods are going to depend on personal preference.

That said, I would look into something called ENB if you haven't already. It's not exactly a traditional "mod", but it overhauls a lot of the lighting in the game, and you can find a large number of presets for it on Nexus Mods(the options available on it are absurdly extensive). It even works with some other games as well.

I'll also agree that the aMidianBorn Book of Silence has some very nice looking texture in it, especially armours.

If you have Oblivion I'd use Morroblivion

For Skyrim it's a matter of preference.

Oblivion sucks. As do its graphics. And everything about it really.

Anyone able to recommend an ENB? There are just so many to choose from and I am trying to narrow down the selection a little bit.

You don't need to go berserk over what I like because I said 'crappy anime addicts' term before. I didn't mean you.

Or maybe you don't know anything about graphics, right?

Pre-2002 3d games are the ones that their graphics suck.

+ this one:

Oblivion's graphic is fine for 2005-2006:

Well, I for one didn't appreciate the overshiny, overbloomed, plastic and repetitive graphics of it. Though Oblivion *was* my first TES game. Morrowind and Skyrim have art in a direction I at least love. More defined lines and not oversturated colors and whatnot.

As to the Morrowind modpack to change it all, Overhaul, I'd spare the link:

Interesting. Unlike you I couldn't enjoy ES III's graphics despite it was better than Might & Magic IX!

So there is a 1.65 GB file for morrowind. What should we do after downloading? Just copy-paste in a certain folder or is there an install icon?

+ which version of the game is required for this super-mod?

I tried this on my old computer, literally brings new life to the game, just make sure you have a good system as it is demanding.  My old computer could play it but at really low FPS making it rather difficult to play.
