Is Bioware going to change the art style for the darkspawn in Inquisition? I found their models in DA2 completely underwhelming. If this has already been answered I apologize.

I really hope they've redesigned them. The first darkspawn actually looked like corrupted versions of Thedas's races, the DA 2 design looks like generic undead.
I doubt there will be Darkspawn at all in DAI,but i bet the Orlesian Darkspawn look better lol.
YMMV on the genlocks. I thought the DAO versions looked too much like Gremlins. I kept wondering why they didn't shrivel in the sunlight.
Anyways, the darkspawn maintain the same look in Heroes of Dragon Age, so I doubt they're changing.

Well we're going to the western approach which has the chasm. Thats where the darkspawn powered out of during the second blight so i wouldnt doubt if they still linger around there

I thought HODA wasn't affiliated with Bioware...?

I dont see how that concludes that there isnt going to be a change

No, but it is affiliated with EA and it's all the same brand.
They will look slightly different due to the new engine, but I hope they actually stay with the DA2 route.
Don't care nothin' 'bout no Darkspawn.
Show me the Red Templars! The Darkspawn can wait.
Just give the Hurlocks the badass alpha horned helms and I'll be good.

They probably have majestic moustaches.

Why do you like the darkspawn of the second more? The darkspawn are corruption and chaos, their look in the first game reflected perfectly this, they had deformed faces, were covered in blood and used any kind of armor and weapon they could find. In the second they seem like undead people who were given all their weapons and armor in the same production line.
I think Bioware was trying to avoid similarities with Lord of the rings orcs, when actually they were created to be freaking orcs or at least do the same thing orcs do, kill and destroy everything because we are evilz. When they tried a different approach in DA2 they made them even more bland and generic. In Origins they had presence because they kept it simple, in DA2 they give the feel of being just another very ugly race not too smart and pretty lame.
Origins version seemed kinda like a copy of the LOTR orcs in some regard. But i like the lore behind them, that human broodmothers made hurlocks. Dwarven broodmothers genlocks. Elven made shrieks. And qunari made ogres. Atleast the darkspawn looked like that made sense lore-wise.
In DA2 that logic went out the window, lol.
Actually, my main problem with the Darkspawn is their armor.
They are an army of braindead.. things, for gods sake. They can't craft all that armor with so much detail and colour. It should be like a square plate held together with rope over their shoulders or something that they use for armor, not finely crafted plate armour with great details.
They probably have majestic moustaches.
They will murder and plunder but they will do it with style.

A couple reasons:
1) The armor: In Origins, the Darkspawn had the most intricate armor in the game. They should not be capable of that. Then DA2 comes with the patchy armor and that makes loads more sense.
2) Skin: In Origins, they looked like zombies. Plain and simple. There are not zombies, and nothing of the Darkspawn makes things like skin rip or peel off. In DA2, they had a pale, sickly appearance that fits a race of underground blighted creatures to have.

I can't imagine us not visiting the deep roads so I think there will be some Darkspawn in the game but I doubt they will be a common enemy.

So in essence, you like them because they are truer to the lore, Hyuuga?
