Just as the title.

Overhearing and looking at some articles informs me that the new game Dragon Age: Inquisition is going to have a style of gameplay that to traditional style that of Dragon Age Origins had. That might be nice if not for Dragon Age 2 with its button mashing style of strategy where one's attacks were dealt by pressing buttons repeatedly different than the one in Origins. This button mashing style got me to like the game as it made me feel my attacks had more of an impact and get the player player involved even if it did take some time. The Origins style where the attacks are making impacts yet it almost feels that some CPU is doing it rather than the player. All I suggest is having an option of switching gameplay styles. So if one enjoys the traditional style of gameplay then they can as well as those who enjoy the new style of gameplay that seen in Dragon Age 2 can play too.

This has already been confirmed.  We can choose either the auto-attack gameplay from DAO, or the push-button-to-attack gameplay which was an option in DA2.

I vastly prefer the DAO-style auto-attack (action combat is incompatible with my style of roleplaying), but I would not tell others that they cannot enjoy it.

Oh yeah I forgot we'll have the option. :D

I think auto-attack is perfect for mouse and keyboard, but button mashing can just be friggin fun with a controller.

As do I. Not least because I'm terrible at using the M+KB for action games. The thought of having to click for each attack and dodge enemies' attacks by using A WHOLE NEW KEY had me waking up in cold sweats. I'm happy to dodge the old fashioned way - by dumping points into DEX.

Pretty much.

I hated auto attack on console, but loved button mash.

On PC I much preferred auto attack and couldn't stand button mashing.
