They say 100 Hours = 50 Hours for Maximum Completion for me, probably 25 hour 1st play through   :police:

DA:O 100% = 51 hrs (All DLC on Hard)

DA:A 100% = 17 hrs

DA:2 100% = 49 hrs  (ALL DLC on Medium)

My regular DA:O & 2 play through length? About 17 hours give or take. (Minus 30 hours of suffering through **** Side quests)

I'm kinda concerned about this because Most of the quests in DA:O & especially 2 were Crap to play. The only reason I even play these games is for the story & Character interactions (Even though I like RTWP games).

Game play + Quest design were NEVER a strong suit of the series so I'm not gonna bet on DA:I turning that around all that much.

It will probably be the best in the series in terms of game play but from my experience with RPG's a good 50% of these 50 to 100 Hour games are made up of Garbage Side quests.

For the main Storyline there will probably be 3 or 4 Quests that have high production value, the rest will be average & the tedious side quests will suck ass.(Go, Kill, Collect, Return to Quest giver)

So yeah most of my play through's will probably be around 20 to 30 hours which is still pretty good  ;)

100 hours... that would be fantastic. I'd already be beyond happy with 50-60 hours.

Definitely worth the $60. Take that 100+ hours and multiply it by the races, genders, and classes we get to be.....oh and dont forget the different character attitudes we can create.

Exactly. It's these kinds of numbers that justify even spending the money Uber Editions are worth, since you are still getting more than most games are timewise per dollar.

Good, goooood! I like long games, obviously only the good ones. ME3 wasn't long enough, when i first played that game i kept trying to find ways to prolong it, just by wandering the citadel or something, i didn't want it to end, knowing this game is partially open world is cool, lots of exploring to pass the time!

Great news as long as the quests have some substance this time around. That is plenty long enough to play through a time or two before Witcher 3 and DAI DLC.

"100 Hours"?!?  Pffffff... That'll take me from Release to Oct 12 (and only because I will still have go to work Oct 7-10.)

(Ok, I jest.  But only a little.   )

Depends on what they want me to do within those 100 (60, 50....) hours.

E.g. 50 hours on DAO was not same as 50 hours on KOTOR2 (where the 'prologue' alone took something like 6-8 hours).

" He said BioWare was determined to not be overly impressed with its own development skills by schmaltzing up the game with long, non-playable, cinematic sequences. After the prologue, players can skip over those sequences and play straight through."

As someone that will spend hours on the CC to get the right eyebrow height, I hope this means we can skip the prologue, too. ;_; I don't know how many times I've seen Shepard hobble through the Normandy in ME2.

I clock DA:O at 45 hours , but that because I know  exactly what to do and where to go. If you play a game like DA:O blindfolded .. watch every cutscene/dialogue .. Read every tidbit of information and  gamebook. That a lot more than 50 hours of content in your first playthrough .. Than let's not forget that these game have big level of replayability ! In my first playthrough of DA:O . It took me around 45 hrs to beat ( without any DLC) and I did  miss a lot of content. Now I can beat it with all DLC under 45 hours.

It depend of your playstyle too. Somebody watching you play who take longer normally could think you're rushing through the game while you're just playing it ''normally'.. Epicname bro playthrough of DS2 is a good example. He's not rushing.. But when you know where everything is and you start skipping ''useless place'' .. Those playthrough become much shorter. Just like in your first playthrough .. you can be missing lot of content if you don't have a guidebook taped on your wall.

DIfficulty also matter too, but we most often than not have very different way of playing a game. I  love to play my RPG in a very movie like way lol . i try to make it the most immersible possible. So I am often just geeking around.

But anyway it's just me ranting.

Lol, the main storyline is supposedly 40-50 hours, not sure how you plan to finish the game in 20-30..

So 50 max hours of story gameplay? Side quests don't count, they slow the pace down so much. Half story/half postman quests.

I am almost certain that this is way overstated.

Most of the games that were pegged at 40-50h in the past took me 20-25h to complete, no skipping except some side-quests.

It's also most likely factoring in every possible outcome of a conflict. DAO had some quite complex plots that had like, 6 different variations. Redcliffe was one of them. So when you think of it like that, it's not quite as bad thinking the game will be overly bloated at 100 hours. Obviously the hours are subjective to the player too. Usually when someone says a game is 100 hours it ends up 150 hours for me because I play games sloooooooow. I look at every corner, search every container and notice all the small details. Playing slower makes me soak the world in more and appreciate the devs finer attention to detail. The Last of Us is one of my favorite examples of a game with amazing attention to detail if you play it slow.

100 hours means 60 hours. Not bad.

Heh! So true for many games. I was actually wondering this--how long it would actually be compared to what marketing says.

I managed to eke 70 hours out of my first DA:O playthrough (with all DLC). I'd imagine for DA I the semi open world will really, really open things up.

Well, 100 hours sounds about how long it may take me to finish it. My first playthrough of DAO was 96 hours. Minus the DLC. I was very thorough. Subsequent plays took me about 50-60 hours.

My best friend was insane though. His first play of DAO took him 271 hours......... 271. I just about lost my mind trying not to spill the beans and spoil story waiting for him to finish.

That 100hrs consists of back tracking to load up on resources, potions etc to regain heath and filler fetch quests.

Sounds appealing, but quality beats quantity any day. Hopefully this supposedly 100 hours of gameplay will deliver.
